Being human means change. All people are more or less changing on an ongoing basis. Whether it be organising a cultural event or developing a business project or social co-operation. About every 20 years human beings renew practically all their cells which means that by the end of a lifetime we have changed and totally renovated ourselves about four times. Who dares to say: "I'm not going to change anymore."
- It's natural to fear change
- Big social shifts develop slowly and steadily
- Social evolution through personal bravery
It's natural to fear change
We simply don't know too much about human beings in the distant past and how we have arrived today after 200.000 years of evolution and having changed to the human society of today.
To intend to make or undertake something new or change something also often means a certain feeling of insecurity and fear, which from an animal's point of view is quite natural as the stress of something new is a reaction of attention to external stimuli. It is far more comforting to stay in our safe zone and resist the forces of change. To leave that zone of comfort and to explore the endless possibilities we carry inside is an adventure in which people of all parts of the world take part in every day life often not realising the dangers. Dreams, illusions, a sense of optimism and hope acompany these adventures and if finally crowned by success, we feel happy. Is happiness not the absence of fear?
If we decide to make a positive change, breathe the pure air of inspiration, trying to instill hope for future generations and act with the appropriate humility necessary to enjoy the successes plus creating our very own destiny, doesn't that seem like huge acts of bravery and moral?
Big social shifts develop slowly and steadily
Nowadays social classes are based on talent. Not the status reached earlier defines the success, but talent. The most advanced societies further more and more the creative talent of an individual without looking at race, sex, age, colour, ancestry or family ties. This does not do more than democratise the capacity of developing the talent, the innovation und therefore the change. Without realising, we help to reach a stage of knowledge, strange and new, something that we have not encountered before.
When some companies or individuals do not take the opportunity of positive change and let the turbulent waters pass without doing anything, hoping for calmer waters to take them again to the new rules of the game, they stagnate and wait again intending to obtain the personal maximum benefit of the new established paradigma without actually having contributed to it.
Social evolution through personal bravery
Luckily, the social evolution and the human species have not arisen through those behaviours, but only with bravery, a certain madness and a lot of work and perseverance to reach the great changes of humanity.
Illusion, passion and errors have no place in this development. Innovation is the fruit of our dreams and the good companies and individuals always have dreams and the curiosity whether it can be done and that is the nourishment of the talent.
It's a good time now to love the unkown, to forget the old fears and seek to create the new hights of our own lives.
Let's go.
