Low sodium, zero-fat, zero-cholesterol soup.
Here’s a soup recipe taught to me by my dear mother. She is hypertensive and so am I. My mom searched and learned so many things in controlling her hypertension so she is now my adviser in controlling mine.
Not only this soup recipe will help us keep our blood cholesterol and blood pressure under control but also provides us with a delicious and nutritious meal. It is less than 3 gm. of salt and only about 20 calories, zero-fat and zero-cholesterol.
The heart-friendly soup.
1 pc carrot, finely chopped
¼ head cabbage, shredded
2 stalks celery, finely chopped
1 pc small onion, chopped
3 pcs tomatoes, medium
1 liter beef broth
dash ground pepper
Put all ingredients in a large pot with enough water. Bring to a boil and simmer for about 40 minutes. Season to taste with pepper.
