How people with sleep disturbances can get a more restful night's sleep by drinking chamomile tea before bedtime.

How Chamomile Can Help You Sleep Better

Ancient Egyptians swore by the soothing effects of chamomile. Chamomile is an analgesic and sedative as well as providing immune system booster to ward off cold and flu, aiding in digestive problems and calms anxiety. It also has no caffeine.

You might be surprised to find out just how well this cousin to the ragweed can help you feel restful and at ease. There are different species of chamomile; the most widely used is German Chamomile. Just fill 1 tea ball and steep in hot water for 20 minutes. Add honey to your taste if you desire a sweetener. It's also quite tasty with a little fresh lemon juice or orange zest.

Chamomile also has anti-spasmodic properties which means it helps tense muscles relax.

Thank you for your comment Mark... it also helps my 25 year old son in the same way... but also he is autistic... so when he gets in one of those frustrated moods the tea helps to calm him down alot!

Thank you Richard... it is soothing... but I personally like the home grown stuff... easy to grow and mine re-seeds itself and comes back year after year...
