Nature's Magic
Nature’s Magic is a blend of 100% natural plant oils. It has been studied for use in pain relief, muscle relaxation, increasing circulation, & regenerating tissue. The blend was created February 2004, & has been tested on over 200 individuals with various ailments and injuries. The oil was originally created by me (Gail) for my own use. I had multiple injuries from a span over 15 years (2 car accidents, tree cutting accident, pushed down stairs, etc.....) dozens of broken bones (abusive husband), muscle damage, ligament damage, bone damage, nerve damage in the C5 and C6 vertebra, Left arm was atrophied greater than 30%, limited range of motion and strength in left arm, and constant pain, sometimes horrid shooting spasm pain, also many severe problems related to the Right knee and Left hip. Unable to take most medications due to reactions - was comatose twice from reactions to drugs - not to forget the near death experience from a cortisone injection into my neck. Unable to obtain pain relief through normal methods, I began studying alternative forms of healing in 2000. I obtained my LPN and Reiki certification in 2003. I have studied aromatherapy and essential oil use extensively from 2002 till present. These studies, spurred on by intense constant pain brought about the creation of Nature’s Magic.
The truth behind the creation / discovery of healing
I did indeed study fervently for months and years - to find a solution to my pain. But I cannot take full credit. I don’t really tell people this part of the story much as I figure some might think I’m nuts. But sometimes, we just have to say things the way they happened. So, here goes.... I had studied quite a bit, and I felt I was ready to experiment and find the solution. Tax time came, and I had $2000 coming - so I ordered a lot of essential oils and started playing around. I had identified all the possibilities that might be useful - oils to help relieve pain, some to relax tissue, some to help regenerate tissue... everything I could think of to help set the stage for healing - I had them all, spread out on the table. I sat and looked at the oils, and then a spasm of pain struck me, and I was on my knees in tears. As I got up and sat back onto the chair, I looked at the bottles of oil, and suddenly felt so overwhelmed. All I could do was cry - the answer was so close, yet I was so tired, and hurt so much - I just didn’t have it in me to figure it out.
Then, of a sudden, I felt a peace, and I looked at the bottles, and I knew.... I picked out nine oils, and put everything else away for later. I knew those where the ones. That was the answer! But then I thought... how many? If you put more than a certain amount of drops of essential oils in the base oil you risk side effects and problems... I didn’t need more problems........ so I sat and looked at those nine bottles, then thought... hmm... ‘someone’ helped me choose the oils, perhaps they would also help me with the amounts? So I looked up to heaven, and in earnest said...”Thanks so much for the help, but please, could you tell me how much of each?”.... Then I waited, and it was only a moment, and I knew... same as I knew which bottles to choose, I knew how much of each! So I wrote the numbers down, so many drops of each oil - and then I mixed it up, and just believed that it would work! How could it not when I had angelic guidance?
Haven't changed the formula since - tried to once at a request of a woman with a unique skin cancer - but it caused extreme redness and rash on her skin - so I decided a person really shouldn't muck with a formula that was given by divine guidance.
Why Share the formula now?
After realizing how wonderful the oil was, my thoughts were that I could use the formula to generate income. Was a nice thought, and I researched what would be involved in getting a copyright and all that stuff... turns out to be quite complicated and takes LOTS of money. Something that I don’t have lots of.... so I made oil, used it myself, and shared it with others. I went to work at a nursing home about a year later, and after seeing so many people hurting, asked permission from the head doctor to use the oil on residents and staff as they requested. He didn’t feel it would hurt anything, it was just a massage oil anyway - so gave me permission - and the testing began in earnest for nearly a year. The residents loved it as much as the staff! After a few months though, it became obvious that the oil was indeed doing something as residents weren’t using their PRN pain medications any longer, or using them less, less enough to be noticeable - so the doctor, worried about liability, told me that none of the residents could have any more of the oil till it was tested properly and officially.... like that was something I could do.... ah well.... the testing time did at least prove to me what I knew already to be true. I just felt so confined though - so many that the oil could help, yet I could not give it to them. I contacted a couple large pharmaceutical companies and told them about my oil, and they thought it was a wonderful product that they’d love to represent - AFTER I obtained a patent.... hmmmm... back to the issue of patents and copyrights... I gave it up, and just decided to let God decide who needs it and when someone comes into my life that I feel needs a bottle, I offer it to them - and it’s always been appreciated.
Meanwhile, part of me feels bad for the many people that could benefit from this formula that have no access to it, so I decided to share it - with stipulations:
1 - anyone who reads this article is welcome to use the formula and make some for their own use, or that of their family.
2 - no one has permission to make the oil for sell or profit - NO ONE!
3 - I retain a “poor man’s” patent/rights (mailed myself and my sister a copy of the formula years ago when it was created and both letters are locked in bank vaults as proof of the time of the creation of the formula)
4 - Please respect me enough not to copy this information to other websites. I would prefer that it be located only here, in one spot. If you wish to share it online with others, please just refer to a wonderful healing oil recipe and provide the link to this page.
5 - If someone has connection with a company that does want to make the oil for profit, they may contact me directly and we’ll discuss it - dizzygail@yahoo.com
Of course, if you use the formula and find it to be as wonderful and healing as all those that have used it already - I’d welcome any donations of gratitude! Just feel free to send any donations to my email account at paypal.com - dizzygail@yahoo.com - any donations would help me to be able to afford more oils for testing other ideas, and for making more Nature’s Magic to give to those that need it.
Some General Case Studies
Myself - 44 year old female (at the time), used for numerous old injuries, pain, muscle damage, nerve damage, ligament damage, frequent mind racking spasms. Used the oil religiously 2-3 times a day over nearly entire body . Did not feel immediate pain relief as many did for other problems. I presume that is because my problems are both many and deep into the tissue thru the whole body. After a month of steady use, I noticed that I couldn’t remember when I had the last mind racking spasm pain episode. I still had lots of pain, but no intense spasms. 3 months later, still using it 2-3 times daily (slathering the stuff on at this point) I realized that the severity of my pain was gone, it still ached in my shoulder, arm, hip, back, etc.... but it was more of an ache than the severe pain I had been used to for years. I also could lift my left arm over my head, and I was noticing more strength in it. 2-3 more months and I realized that I only had pain on occasion when I wasn’t careful what I was doing (ie: lifting something heavy that I shouldn’t have done). After using the oil for over a year continuously, and then sporadically for the following years - I have NO pain in my body at all on most days. On rare occasion I might do something that reminds me the injuries aren’t fully healed yet, such as swinging off a monkey bar at the park with my son and realized that my shoulder wasn’t quite 100%. It hurt, but it only hurt for a few moments, and I continue to use the oil and do exercises, now that I can, to rebuild the strength. I couldn’t do the exercises before due to pain, but now I can, so the healing process should continue.
58 year old female, for severe Rheumatoid Arthritis. Hands deformed with limited use. Full pain relief obtained after 5 minutes of rubbing in oil. Also obtained ability to move fingers within this time frame. Initially full pain relief lasted 2-3 hours. After months of daily use, a single application in the morning was adequate to enable this woman to make it through a work day with minimal pain. She uses the oil now instead of the prescription pain meds she was on prior. - Similar results on numerous other test subjects with Rheumatoid Arthritis. They would all rather have the oil put on their hands or knees rather than be given vicodin or percocet.
42 year old male athlete that does “100 mile” marathons around the world. Tested for sore muscles after strenuous exercising and marathons. Pain relief was immediate and total. Long term effects noted that the oil kept his muscles loose and stimulated. In his own words: “Best hard workout/recovery lotion/oil I’ve ever used! I’m a marathon runner and it usually takes a week after a marathon for my legs to be pain-free. After using Nature’s Magic - all stiffness and pain were gone completely in 3-4 days!”
60 year old female with Muscular Dystrophy suffering severe muscle pain throughout body. Experienced pain relief within 10 minutes, lasting for 3-4 hours. After months of use, no longer suffers the severe throbbing pain, and severity of pain is minimized. Disease is not cured, but quality of life is greatly improved. - Similar results on 2 other test subjects with pain related to Muscular Dystrophy.
26 year old female with severe menstrual cramps. A small amount rubbed onto the lower back would completely relieve all cramping within 1-2 minutes, and it would be gone for the day. CNA was back on the floor working within 5 minutes and finished out her shift with no problems, where she normally had to be sent home in tears. - Similar results on MANY other females of various ages. Menstral cramps seem to be a referred pain, putting the oil on the abdomen does nothing, but applied to the lower back will relieve cramps almost immediately.
Headaches - not effective for actual migraine headaches as they are chemical in nature. But completely relieves most cluster headaches within seconds on all test subjects - and I do mean seconds.
Lupus - only 1 test subject - 42 year old female has been using the oil for several weeks, and has notable pain reduction in her legs.
Sciatic Nerve damage/pain - Test subjects do not notice any specific immediate pain relief, but with regular use notice that overall severity of pain decreases and ability to sit comfortably greatly increased. Subjects have not used long enough to determine if total relief could eventually be obtained (estimate it would take over a year based on my own pain experience)
General pain - numerous test subjects, some have instant pain relief (within 10-30 seconds), some have partial or total pain relief within 5 - 10 minutes. Pain relief can last 2-3 hours on some, 5-6 hours on others, and be complete with 1 treatment on others. All seem to have a cumulative effect when used regularly for nagging problems. Variance seems to be related to numerous factors, including: age of subject, type of pain, type of injury, depth of pain/injury. Overall, usually effective for most muscle/tendon pain, and has a cumulative effect when used regularly over time. Has active oils to 1) relieve pain, 2) increase circulation, 3) relax muscles, and 4) regenerate tissue - overall these things put the body in a position for healing. It is important to note though, that just because pain relief has been obtained, an injury may still exist and will take time to fully heal.
Tatoo infection - unknown to me, someone that had a sample of my oil had recently gotten a tatoo - it became very red/irritated and infected. They rubbed the oil on the tatoo, and the next day it was fine. I don't advise using it on open wounds or internally as I have not tested this myself - but this test was done by someone else, and they asked that I include it as a note from them.
As a note - dogs LOVE this mixture - and if you have it on you and they can reach the area, they'll lick, and lick, and lick..... at first this concerned me, but a friend that has used my oil for years, has a small dog that frequently licks all he can from her legs - and he's just fine years later - just thought I'd share this as someone out there may have a dog, and it's sure to smell and lick the oil.
Warnings
WARNINGS: To date (1/2012), no bad side effects have been noted by any test subjects, but extremely small amounts of the following oils are in the product and the oils themselves have these warnings. - Please do note that this product should NEVER be taken internally. Has not been tested on children or pregnant women.
Angelica: The components can increase the skin’s sensitivity to light. Don’t use the oil before going out in the sun because pigment spots can form.
Cardamon: If you are pregnant or if you have high blood pressure, avoid using cardamon oil in any form. When using the oil externally, always dilute it first with a carrier oil as it can irritate the skin. If such an irritation does occur, bathe the area with cold water.
Cinnamon: Should only be used sparingly for topical applications. Even when diluted, it can irritate the skin if the amount is too high.
German Chamomile: Has a higher volatile-oil content, making it preferable for healing treatments. If you are pregnant, use it only in the later stages of your pregnancy.
Ginger: May cause a skin reaction, especially on sensitive skin. Dilute thoroughly. If you are prone to skin irritations, do a patch test before applying. This oil should never be used on infants and children.
Grapefruit: Like all citrus essential oils, grapefruit oil may increase your skin’s sensitivity to light. This means that when your skin is exposed to strong sunlight or even ultraviolet rays, slow-to-fade brown pigment spots may form. If the oil is not properly blended or if it is applied unevenly, darkening and skin irritation could result. For these reasons, avoid using any products that contain grapefruit essential oil before lying out in the sun or visiting a tanning salon.
Helichrysum: should not be used by children younger than 12 or by pregnant women. In addition, Helichrysum essential oil can evoke powerful emotions in some individuals and should therefore be used in moderation.
Juniper: Avoid using the oil if you have kidney problems or are pregnant, since it may prove too stimulating.
Rosemary: The camphor, thymol and terpineol, in rosemary are highly stimulating. Pregnant women should not use the herb as either an essential oil or a tea preparation, as either can cause premature labor. Those prone to asthma may be bothered by rosemary’s strong scent, and the active ingredients can also cause seizures in epileptics. Rosemary oil may cause skin irritation if not diluted properly.
Understanding the Specific oils used in the formula
Angelica Seed essential oil. Angelica archangelica, steam distilled seed, India. Its scent has been described as sharp, having the biting odor of green stems, just broken, with peppery overtones. Angelica Seed essential oil is used as a nervous system sedative and is indicated for spasms in the gut, anxiety and nervous fatigue. Oil of Angelica root and seed is contained in liqueurs such as Benedictine and Chartreuse, as well as liquors such as gin. Persons with vast experience in essential oils who are fully familiar with their uses and dangers should be the only ones to ingest certain essential oils. Its color is deep blue with major components of chamazulene (gives the oil its deep blue color), farnesene and bisabolol. The chamazulene content gives German chamomile its most important actions such as soothing, calming and anti-inflammatory. Among its uses are anti-inflammatory, hormonal, and antispasmodic. This oil is indicated for all kinds of skin disease (eczema, psoriasis, itchy/dry/flaky skin) stomach distress and menstrual problems and can be used in hot compresses on boils, abscesses, splinters, etc. It can also be used in massage for muscular pain and for arthritic inflamed joints. It's also useful for treating sprains, inflamed tendons and swollen painful joints in bursitis. It is a good remedy for urinary stones. Menstrual pain and menopausal problems can be relieved by the use of compresses, massage and baths. The action of chamomile as a vasoconstrictor can help reduce the redness of the cheeks due to enlarged capillaries. Flash point: 125°F. Cinnamon, Cinnamomum zeylanicum, steam distilled leaf, Ceylon. Oil distilled from the leaves contains mainly Eugenol (@75%). Leaf oil is in great use commercially in foods, mouth preparations, soaps and toiletries. Warm and spicy aroma; it's a rich, yellow oil which lacks the depth and body of cinnamon bark oil. Used as an insecticide, emmenagogue, antispasmodic, antibacterial, aphrodisiac and antifungal particularly against Candida and Aspergillis. Indicated for tooth care, blends for vaginitis, impotence in men, respiratory blends for the lungs. Eases colds and breathing difficulties. As an inhalation, it is excellent for exhaustion, feelings of depression and weakness. It is a very effective antiseptic, digestive and anti-rheumatic and is regarded as one of the strongest antiseptic oils. Useful for preventing infectious and contagious diseases. Invaluable in times of stress and depression as it uplifts and revives the spirit. May have an effect on obesity and fluid retention, is useful for treating water retention and is detoxifying. Ideal for treating cellulite. It has a stimulating effect on the digestive system. Helpful in treating acne, congested and oily skin. Relieves migraine and premenstrual tension and jet lag. Ideal for disinfecting rooms and in spray blends. Blends well with bergamot, cedarwood, frankincense, and lavender. According to The Complete Guide to Aromatherapy by Salvatore Battaglia, this essential oil is non-irritant, non-sensitizing and non-phototoxic. Flash point: 111°F. (Cannot ship via air or ocean w/o appropriate documentation, cannot ship via postal air services. UN #2319, Group III)
Juniperberry Juniperus communis, steam distilled berry, Siberia. Coniferous, woody, spicy and herbal odor with a refreshing aroma. It is expectorant, antiseptic, antispasmodic, astringent, carminative and rubefacient. Not to be used if you have any type of kidney or inflammatory problems. Effective diuretic and antiseptic of the genito-urinary tract, very valuable in treating cystitis and kidney stones. Helps with cellulitis. Clears intestinal mucous. Helpful in cases of gout and rheumatism as it helps to eliminate uric acid. Regulates period and eases painful cramps. In skin care, it's useful for treating acne, blocked pores, weeping eczema, psoriasis and inflammations. Don't use during pregnancy. Flash point: 105°F. (Cannot ship via air or ocean w/o appropriate documentation, cannot ship via postal air services. UN #2319, Group III)
Helichrysum (a/k/a Everlasting, Immortelle): Helichrysum italicum, steam distilled flowering top, Corsica (organic). An intense rich aroma with a herbaceous note. Among its properties are anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, antitussive, astringent, diuretic, expectorant, fungicidal and cicatrisant. The French used this oil primarily as an anti-inflammatory to regulate cholesterol, stimulate the cells of the liver, and as an antispasmodic. This particular variety has powerful antibruise properties. It's ideal to use in lymphatic drainage massage, acts as a stimulant for the liver, gall bladder, kidneys and spleen––the organs responsible for detoxifying the body. Italidone, one of its chemical components, has been found to have strong mucous thinning, expectorant and cicatrisant properties. It is a rejuvenating oil which promotes cell growth, helping to rebuild tissues. Clears the body of candida apparently, which often thrives when vitality is low. Blend with rosehip seed oil for scar formula or with lemon and geranium for kick-smoking blend. Assists in healing scars, acne, dermatitis, boils and abscesses. Flash point: 124°°F. (Cannot ship via air or ocean w/o appropriate documentation, cannot ship via postal air services.)
Rosemary. Rosemarinus officinalis, steam distilled flowering top/leaf, Spain. Strong, clear, penetrating, camphoraceous and herbaceous aroma. It is analgesic, antidepressant, antirheumatic, antiseptic, antispasmodic, astringent, cicatrisant, digestive, diuretic, hypertensive and rubefacient. Not suitable for people with epilepsy or high blood pressure. Avoid in pregnancy since it is an emmenagogue. Might antidote homeopathic remedies. Clears the head and aids memory, good for mental strain. Helps ease gout and tired, overworked muscles, tired or weak legs and circulatory problems of extremities, as well as cold feet. Since it stimulates blood circulation, it is a good remedy for low blood pressure. It's an excellent tonic for the liver and gall bladder. Helps lower high blood sugar. Used in shampoo and hair treatments, it helps stimulate blood circulation to the scalp, thus being beneficial for promoting hair growth. Blends well with basil, cedarwood, frankincense, ginger, grapefruit, orange and peppermint. Flash point: 104°F. (Cannot ship via air or ocean w/o appropriate documentation, cannot ship via postal air services.)
Almond (Sweet) Prunus amygdalus, P. dulcis: Sweet almond oil is obtained from the nut of the tree, which is native to Asia and the Mediterranean. This oil is a favorite carrier oil for essential oil aromatherapy blends, although it’s often used by itself for moisturizing skin. The oil has no scent and is a great nutrient for softening and conditioning the skin. It's been known to be especially suitable for eczema, itchy, dry and inflamed skin. Since it contains glucosides, vitamins and minerals, it makes a fabulous massage oil. Sweet almond oil is widely used in lotions, lotion bars, balms and soap; it produces a mild soap with very good lather. This oil can be used as a large percentage of the fats or as an oil added at trace. Some users find that this oil goes rancid quickly, others feel they have no problem with the shelf life of almond oil. Sweet almond should be stored in a cool place. SAP value: 192.5. INCI: Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil.
Wheat Germ Oil Triticum spp. This oil is thick, sticky and antioxidant. It’s also very rich in vitamin E, a natural antioxidant. Based on this, it can be added to other carrier oils to act as a preservative. Wheat germ oil can be used to nourish dry or cracked skin and soothes skin problems such as eczema and psoriasis; also helps to prevent and reduce scarring and may prevent stretch marks. Mature skin, in particular, will benefit from wheat germ oil. It’s also known to be beneficial for tired muscles, making a good base for after sport massage. Some people use it as a preservative in vegetable oils, soaps and toiletries, and others totally disagree as to its preservative powers. People allergic to wheat flour may have reactions to wheat germ oil. Should be stored in a cool place. SAP value: 185.0.
And finally - the formula
I mix the formula 8 ounces at a time, each oil is added one at a time, mixing each well (and gently) before adding the next. I also mix them in the order listed below. I do not know for sure how important the order or how it’s mixed is, this is just the way that I felt to do it in my heart, so the order, and method are important to me.
Begin with 7 ounces of Sweet Almond oil for the base oil.
Put 1 ounce of Wheat Germ oil in with the Sweet Almond. Cap, and gently rock the bottle back and forth in your hands to mix the oils. I do this for a good minute or two for each addition. The Wheat Germ oil acts as a fixative to keep the oils from turning rancid - without it, in a matter of weeks the mixture would ferment and stink horribly. With it, the mixture will remain good and strong for at least 2 years. Of course, the older it gets, the less ‘magically’ it works - will lose strength with age - so best to make in 8 ounce batches, and remake as needed, buying the expensive essential oils in small amounts so they will be as fresh as possible. Also - keep the original caps on the oil to keep them sealed tightly and help them last longer. Any droppers you use, should not be mixed between oils - should be one dropper per oil type, and keep marked which is which - keeps the original essential oils from being contaminated. If contaminated you risk them going rancid and becoming unusable.
You now have the base for the formula, and the reason for the base mixture, and length of good usable time.
Next, one at a time, add the following, the slowly and gently rotate and shake the bottle between each mixture:
Angelica Seed- 8 drops
Rosemary - 20 drops
Cardamon - 8 drops
Cinnamon - 4 drops
Ginger - 8 drops
Pink Grapefruit - 20 drops
Juniperberry - 8 drops
German Chamomile 8 drops
Helichrysum 4 drops
Be careful to measure and count each drop carefully as too much essential oil in the mix can cause problems on your skin.
Once mixed, keeps best in a dark colored glass bottle with a good solid seal. I keep one bottle mixed and sealed, and keep a second bottle that has a pump lid on it for daily use.

Gail, I was sharing this on FB today and I had a Mellie brain wave. A great article for you to follow up with (if you don't mind me suggeting) is the difficulty small biz owners have trying to get natural healing products copyrighted and the expense involved. I did some copyright articles (unrelated) for another site and they get mega hits! Just a thought my friend.

thanks! I'll keep it in mind! Just now working on herbs, animals stuff, the log from the emergency thursday - and emotional things as they come in my head - really helps me to stay balanced during this time of great stress and emergency in our family
