MAN with 30 Second Memory
Clive Wearing was born on may 11, 1938 and was a British musicologist and a keyboardist. He was a normal person and a accomplished musician. He founded Europa singers of London, which specialises in 17th,18th and 19th century musics. He was responsible for musical content on BBC radio 3 for the royal wedding of Prince Charles and Diana Speencer on 29 july 1981.
ON march 27, 1985 wearing contracted a virus wich causes cold sores. But in wearing’s case the virus attaked the brain. Since then he lost his memory and cant store new memories either. He knows he has two children but cannot remember their names. He can only recognize his wife, whom he loves very much even now. He greets her very happily thinking he has not seen her for a long time, even though she may have gone only for few minites. When he goes to restaurents he can remember the name of food but cant remember the taste of the food.
Even though he suffers from retrograde and anterograde amnesia, he can still play piano, but he forgets that he just played it after he stops playing. He does not have any recollection of any musical education. When scietist tried teaching wearing new practice he was able to learn them but without remembering how he learned. His wife’s name is debrah and she is the one who look after him .She was written a book entitled Forever Today which tells about her husband’s case

So many talented artists seem to get affected by strange illnesses. This is a sad story and I'm sure the book will be worth reading.
