Modern Medicine Fills Corporations and Kills People
Medicine has been one with man from his very first day of existence. It has been simple and making him healthy to live for some more time. But modern medicine has become too complicated and commercialized to kill him.

Modern medical system killing more people
You may be shocked to know the facts about modern medicine. It is not so simple and reachable as it was decades ago. A study in 1994 reported in the Journal of the American Medical Association showed that modern medicine caused 180,000 deaths each year in the USA and most of those deaths were caused by prescribed pharmaceutical drugs. It stated that 2,216,000 hospitalized patients had serious Adverse Drug Reactions and 106,000 had fatal Adverse Drug Reactions, making these reactions between the fourth and sixth leading cause of death. This scenario has dramatically increased since 1994 by killing more and more people every year. In short, modern “commercialized” medicine is considered to be one of the leading causes of death, filling the pockets of medical corporations and killing people.
America is spending more money on healthcare
It is a sad fact that in spite of spending more money on health care than any other country in the world, more and more people are dying every year just because of mismanagement. The United States has the greatest annual sickness-care expenditure of any nation which should have made it the healthiest nation in the world. If money spent for medical care and treatment it should have been ranked the first nation in health. But according to a 2006 report the USA ranked at only number 48 in the world for life expectancy at birth.
Prices of medicines have increased; there is no other option except death for people without insurance. It is a real mystery how harmful pharmaceutical drugs are allowed onto the market in the first place. Medicine in the USA is more commercial than making the common man healthy.
Why these unfortunate deaths in this modern era?
Science is advanced and everyday modern medicine announces the arrival of a “New wonderful drug” or a “miraculous procedure” to the modern world, increasingly wary of high-tech cures. Everyday media bring our news about drugs, transplants, and methods of surgery with more and more risks. Ancient medicine systems which had been sustaining humanity are neglected, mainly by the involvements of the profit-minded commercial people. It is really unfortunate that complexities of modern medicine frighten people with genomics, stem cells, transplantations, drugs, surgery, etc., ignoring ordinary things that can heal easily. In fact, modern medicine has turned hostile or contemptuous toward simple approaches. Even the noblest profession of medicine has been corrupted by business
Surveys suggest that three-fourths of those who go to doctor’s offices have nothing wrong with them physically, meaning that they are actually beyond the reach of what the modern complex medicine has to offer.
Exploitation of Corporations
Corporations that handle drugs make enormous profits in the country. People who are ill have to pay whatever price they fix. For example, an essential drug named Omnicef (Cefdinir), an antibiotic used to treat certain infections caused by bacteria, such as pneumonia, bronchitis, ear infections, sinusitis, pharyngitis, tonsillitis, and skin infections costs double in recent days.
Commercial consumerism has affected much the life of common man. The profit-oriented Corporations misguide governments and achieve their targets some way or other. Their relationship with the government is more of a “you scratch my back and I'll scratch yours.” It is a well-known fact that these businessmen are the big spenders at the time of lobbying and campaign contributions. They can easily defy the intent of laws regulating safety of drugs by bribery, false advertising, unsafe manufacturing processes, smuggling and international law evasion strategies.
Other causes of deaths
1) Every year 7.5 million unnecessary medical and surgical procedures are performed. Preventable medication mistakes hurt more than 1.5 million patients.
2) Adverse drug effects cause at least 106,000 people die every year. Most side effects are caused by misdiagnosing, leading to further drugging and unnecessary medical procedures.
3) It is a shocking fact that the mortality rate for people between the ages of 45-65 who took their prescription drugs very sincerely rose 90% in just five years.
This essay is not written to discourage or underestimate the wonderful discoveries of modern science, but this is just to make a humble request to look at the suffering and dying common man because of exploitations by selfish businessmen. This is just to make you reflect what the scholars say about modern hospital care—the hospital care in the USA has become the third leading cause of death after heart disease and cancer, only due to medical errors, unnecessary mistakes and side effects of drugs.
As the drug companies themselves acknowledge, taking modern drugs means that every time a drug is taken or we eat chemical foods from pharmacies, we are also treated like guinea-pigs.
