Strawberries
Strawberries will do an incredible job at making your skin have that wow factor everyone longs for. They are easily accessible, alot cheaper and much more reliable than commericial skin care products.
Strawberries are a natural exfoliant, they refresh and brighten the skin leaving you with a glowing complexion. They improve skin tone, reduce the look of blemishes and under eye puffiness and tighten pores. They also get rid of excessive oils and clears any unwanted pigmentation giving you smoother more young looking skin.
Strawberries also contain,salycylic acid, used in many commerical acne treatments, and is very effective against acne prone skin. Even halving a strawberry and rubbing it onto the effected area may help.
Strawberries contain a large amount of vitamin C which is well known for its antioxidant activity. This encourages cell repair and tissue regrowth,this is very helpful to the skin as it is constantly shedding and regrowing cells. With this reasoning anything that encourages cell repair and tissue regrowth would surely go down well with a anti ageing regime.
Try out the recipes, they do work! I use them myself and they smell and feel gorgeous :)
Strawberry Facial Scrub and Facial Mask Recipes.
Facial Scrub
- Mash up three ripe strawberries into a small bowl.
-Add six drops of honey.
-Mix until the consistency is of a thick paste.
-Apply to neck and face, avoiding eyes.
-Massage into skin, stimulating.
-Leave on for 20-30 minutes.
-Wash off with luke warm water and pat until dry.
-Splash your face with cold water to close pores.
Your skin will feel alive and revitalised, your skin will be free of dead flaky skin cells, and be well on its way to looking younger and healthier. This recipe is very simple, but also very effective.
Facial Mask
-Mash four strawberries into a small bowl.
-Add a teaspoon of whipping cream.
-Add a couple of drops of Lemon juice.
-Add one teaspoon of jojoba oil.
-Mix until the consistancy is of a thick paste.
-Apply to neck and face, avoiding eyes.
-Relax, and leave on for 30 minutes.
-Wash off with luke warm water and pat until dry.
-Splash face with cold water to close pores.
This will leave skin beautifully soft and smooth, expecially good for dry skin. Avoid putting jojoba oil in if you suffer from oily skin.
Avocado
The advocado has wonderful raw emollient and hydrating properties, that cannot be found in commercial skin care products. It contains a rich oil which is full of Vitamins A, D and E, Lethicin and Pottasium (Also known as the "youth mineral.")
Avocado oil is high in sterolins, this makes sure the oil is absorbed deep into the skin/tissue, making it ideal for mature, sun damaged and dehydrated skin. Sterolins are also said to reduce the signs of age spots and help heal scarring.
Avocado is very effective in boosting epedermis collagen and elastin cell regrowth, this is benefial as collagen reduces the signs of wrinkles. Massaging avocado oil into the skin regularly will improve firmness and elasticity of the skin, and make it as smooth, soft and youthful as it ever was.
Advocado oil will deeply moisturize and soften the skin into beautiful condition, leaving the skin rejuvinated and healthy, and will also help relieve the itching of psoriasis and eczema (eradicates dry, flakey skin.)

Whipped Avocado Body Butter Recipe
You will need:
-2 tbsp whipping cream
-1 cup brown sugar
-3 tbsp Jojoba oil
-3 tbsp oats
-2 tbsp avocado
-Firstly place the brown sugar and oats into a plastic bowl, and beat with an electric mixer for five minutes. Set aside.
-Place the whipping cream, Jojoba oil and avocado in a seperate bowl, and whip with the electric mixer until blended well.
-Combine both batches, until you have a pasty, whipped consistency.
-Apply all over body, after a hot shower (so your pores are open)
-Wrap yourself up in an old towel and relax for 20-30 minutes.
-Rinse off with luke warm water, and feel your new rejuvinated, silky smooth skin.
-Any remainder should be put in an air tight container.
So many more options!
These recipes are the ones I use, but there are so many more variations you can do and try. I love avocado and strawberries, as they seem to be the most effective for me, but there are so many more fruits with amazing skin care properties.
You could use grated apple with honey for an exfolient, which would be good for sensitive skin. Or another idea could be Bananas and olive oil for dry skin. The options are never ending. If your fed up with spending money on commercial products, that don't seem to be working, then raid your kitchen cupboards and experiment. It's lots of fun.
