The road to eternal rewards passes through canyons and hills of toil, and the travel is aided by the presence of our brothers - silence and humility.

On the canvas of my mind

Harken to the voice of reason,
And thou might be deceived,
For, thy mind may employ the wrong paradigms.

Harken to the voice of the senses,
And thou might be deceived,
For, they are slaves to the mind.

Harken to the voice others,
And thou might be deceived,
For, they may seek to further their self-interests.

Harken to the voice of compassion,
And thou might be deceived,
For, thou may have neglected her sister - discrimination.

Harken to silence,
And accept thine cost of toil and sacrifice,
Thou shalt become one with humility and peace.

lovely poetry you may like this

Life is a desert deserted without trees

In the desert of life
there is no lover
no hubby
nor wife

A desert has no water
rarely any trees
where can you then find shades
to guard against the harshly hot breeze

no one does ever in the day freeze
the nights alone are lovely
in paradise we appear to be

an oasis emerges from the winds of no where
there is no horizon
sands detour all the time
till sunrises again

Breathe along with me
I am that desert in search of love
so lonely a commodity
like dates far up the tree
how can I taste thy love tell me

O you on camel back
an enemy
