How do you know that a person has low self esteem? He will certainly not tell you that he has low self esteem.
Signs of low self esteem
You have to watch out for some signs of low self esteem.
What are the signs of low self esteem?
A person with low self esteem displays certain signs such as:
1. Afraid of conflict
A person with low self esteem is afraid of conflict. He does not want others to think bad of him. He does not dare to air his views even though his views are right.
He does not dare to make his own stand.
2. Seek constant approval
A person with low self esteem seeks constant approval from anyone and everyone.
Even when someone praises him, he does not feel secure. If you forget to praise him for one day, he will start to think that he has done something wrong.
3. “nobody loves me”
When a person feels unworthy of being loved, he will say something like “nobody loves me”, “people like me do not deserve love” and “people like me are always unlucky”.
4. Seek quick fix solutions
A person with low self esteem is vulnerable to the teachings of charismatic leaders. He seeks fortune tellers in order to hear good things.
He buys amulets and charms with the belief that people will love him more.
5. Irrational fears
He has many irrational fears due to his low self esteem. When his boss ignores him, he starts to think of the worst. He never realizes that his boss is deep in thought, and never hears his greeting.
6. Addictive behavior
A person with low self esteem displays addictive behavior.
One of the most common addictive behavior is that of online game addiction. Many gamers love to play massive multi-players online role playing games.
However, those who lack self confidence are addicted to the game. They need to play game to feel great. They are often great warriors in the game. Other gamers praise them to the sky.
They are “nobody” in real life, and they are “somebody” in online game.
Once you recognize the signs of low self esteem, you can find out ways to help them.
