This is part 11 of a series of 12 articles about what they should have, but didn't teach us in school! Today: Natural food and herbs versus junk food and fizzy drinks.
- It's not often that God actually says something in the Bible, but He did say what we should eat!
- What if everybody lives like me?
- Natural healing herbs versus packaged junk herbs
- And again and again, the old chestnut: Change your diet to natural food and change your thoughts!
- Stubborn about "organic"
- Study, study, study ...
- Herbs have many uses
- Simply start adding more and more health to your life!
- Prevention is better than cure!
It's not often that God actually says something in the Bible, but He did say what we should eat!
Genesis 1: And God said, "Behold, I have given you every plant yielding seed which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree with seed in its fruit; you shall have them for food. And to every beast of the earth, and to every bird of the air, and to everything that creeps on the earth, everything that has the breath of life, I have given every green plant for food." And it was so.
Funny that He didn't make junk food and fizzy drinks. And He didn't make Tetra Packs!!! So why do you eat/drink that stuff? - Beats me. Maybe you want to send me a few comments regarding this as I simply don't understand why someone would want to eat junk food, drink sugar pop and swallow chemicals as medicine. I think we have established in earlier articles that this is YOUR choice.
What if everybody lives like me?
I chose to eat natural, organically grown food (in fact, in my early years, my parents decided that for me ;)) and they had also decided that I should not be vaccinated at all and we also chose NOT to take any prescription drugs. So logically, I should be dead by now or at least suffering from 1001 symptoms, but I don't. I'm a happy and healthy 55 year old without scars, without pains. I'm probably the living horror example for politicians, directors of pharmaceutical companies and members of the medical profession. Imagine, if EVERYBODY lived like me! We spun this thought further one day: Millions of employees in pharmaceutical companies, in hospitals and goverments would return to their fathers farm to grow organic food for the nation etc., you can spin this thought further as we did ..... :)
Natural healing herbs versus packaged junk herbs
So apart from living a healthy lifestyle, yes, I do employ a number of healing herbs in my daily life and in my cooking and I thought I'd just share them with you. I know, there are millions of herbs and herbal preparations out there and they don't work and I found that there is always just one reason for it. They went through a factory. Sorry, just junkherbs like junk food, overheated, mistreated, irradiated, sprayed, adulterated, mixed with preservatives and colours etc., mostly grown in questionable environment and empty soils and then sold to us as the answer to all illnesses. If that was the truth, we would not be ill, would we? But instead of getting better, people get worse. So why is it then, that we keep insisting on taking herbs in adulterated, packaged form?
And again and again, the old chestnut: Change your diet to natural food and change your thoughts!
You can eat tons of medicinal herbs, if you don't change your lifestyle to a happy one in mind and spirit and if you don't change to organic food intake for your body - forget it! No herb will be able to help you if you keep insisting on eating and drinking and thinking junk. But if you choose to give your body organically grown, fresh food and herbs as well as positive thoughts, it will rebuild. This wonderful body of ours will start healing itself as soon as you feed it natural goodness and it will heal even so-called incurable diseases (Warning: To do this you MUST study more, this article simply doesn't cover EVERYTHING you need to know to cure yourself from an incurable disease, so maybe you want to write me a message, so I can point out the resources for you). You might have had an illness for many years, 20 even 30, it doesn't matter, it normally only takes the body approximately 1 year to get well, if we simply put natural, organically grown food, clean water and herbs into it. I still marvel at this ability of our bodies!
Stubborn about "organic"
And just to make sure that I expressed myself correctly: I only use organically grown, wild crafted or home grown herbs, either dried or preserved in organic oil, organic applecidre vinegar or alcoholic tinctures and I either prepare them myself or buy them IF they are labelled "organic". Believe me, I'm terribly stubborn with this, either it's organic or I don't buy it and get myself a bunch of dandelion leaves fresh from the garden instead. Ehm, no, I'm actually not joking.
Study, study, study ...
Here's my only word of warning. As with everything in life, one can do harm if one doesn't study the subject correctly, uses an overdose or if using bad quality or not enough quantity, people say herbs don't work. So if you want to use herbs, study them first. This web page is not big enough to cover everything and if you really want to help YOUR body to heal with herbs and nutrition I suggest you read the books and web pages by Dr. John R. Christopher or do a home study course with The School of Natural Healing. I did that, it was brilliant and now I know.
Herbs have many uses
Another thing that many people get confused with. If you buy an over the counter drug, then you buy this for a specific symptom or illness. With herbs, this is different. Herbs have usually one or two main uses, but since they affect the whole body, some of them can actually help the body healing other symptoms while it's "at it" or simply because the body can react properly after being given a certain herb. But don't get confused. Most herbs have a main indication and are classified like this sometimes, but can also have beneficial effects on other parts of the body.
Simply start adding more and more health to your life!
See if you can intregrate some of those herbs and real food into your daily life (the list is in no particular order:
Echinacea Tincture
Cayenne Pepper
Garlic
Plantain
Apple Cidre Vinegar
Ginger
Cinnamon
Parsley
Chickweed
Stinging Nettle
Calendula
Horseradish
Rosemary
Wild Rose Hips
Elderberry Flowers
Chives, Chinese Chives, Ramsons, Spring Onions, Onions
Hemp Seeds
Sunflower Seeds
Poppy Seeds
Sesame Seeds
Lobelia Inflata Tincture
Dandelion Leaves
Apricot Kernels
Chlorella and Spirulina Algae
Wheatgrass/Barleygrass powder or fresh juice
Salads, Cress
Edible Flowers for the salad
Maybe, one by one, you can look all those up in Wikipedia or other sources on the internet and in books, step by step learning to use them and add them to your daily life. You'll see how much better you feel soon.
Prevention is better than cure!
Of course, there are hundreds more herbs to choose from, but I found that the above is all I need to prevent illness. That's what my aim is actually: To prevent illnesses, not to treat them. Prevention of illness and healing with nourishing foods and herbs is our birthright. And whether anybody likes it or not, that's just what organically grown, fresh foods and herbs do: Nourish and heal!
As always, working for
A SUCCESSFUL, HAPPY AND HEALTHY FUTURE
Thanks for calling in!

Thank you so much, Melissa! I loved writing it too! It's sort of my life-long experience put into a series. Well, if just one person draws some benefit from it, then it was worth writing! Thanks again and have a lovely weekend!
