Thought for April 28th – Out of Your Control

When things happen that are out of your control it is necessary to turn it around to your advantage. Something your going to is cancelled. Just think about how best you can use the time that you now have available to you.
Life's Curve Ball
We do many things in our lives, yet there are occasions when you pause and think. Things happen that are out of your control. Yet on some occasions that gives you time to refocus and do something you would not have done before.
Yesterday changing plans left me with half a day unexpectedly free. With a little bit of thought I did something that would have remained unchanged for months on end. Re-using the time to complete this outstanding task and not having any interruptions (as other customers thought I was elsewhere) meant that I completed what may have been (in other circumstances) three days worth of work in just about 6 hours.
The task is not 100% complete, but I have "broken the back of it". The rest can be completed as some small 20 minute mini-projects.
Next Time Something Unexpected Happens...
Just make the time count! This is the key.
The truth is that most of us just settle down and do nothing but waste the time, perhaps browse the Internet. Think twice before wasting your time.
If necessary, hide somewhere and make it count.
