Tips in having healthy foods

“Eat an apple a day, keeps the doctor away” is the famous quote but literal meaning of this quote has been changed. Everyday we become aware of the discovery of diseases which did not exist in the past.

So we have to more focus on what we are eating and what is good for eating. Here are some tips for healthy food:
Tip 1: Natural, less processed food and whole food should be your top priority. Your diet must contain organic vegetables, fruits, beans, nuts, seeds and dairy products for vitamins, minerals, protein and carbohydrate. If you are a non-vegetarian, try grass-fed meats and sea food in your diet. Grass-fed meat is devoid of antibiotics and other harmful chemicals. These are not processed to increase weight for commercial purpose.
Tip 2: Using seasonal fruits and vegetables is the right choice and should be in priority list. These are rich in mineral, vitamins and antioxidants which reduces aging process.
Tip 3: Avoid canned food because it contains harmful chemicals. Use frozen or organic fresh food. If you have purchased one, wash properly to remove excess of sodium and chemicals.
Tip 4: Make habit of reading ingredients of food which you are purchasing. Preservatives, dyes and additives can cause harm to your health. Use low fat dairy products and avoid preserved or processed food items.
Tip 5: Fibrous food is essential for our body. It is important and necessary that whole grain products which are rich in fibers are included in our diet. It helps to regulate Bowl’s movement. While shopping for bread, bakery items and snack food, select whole grain products over processed items.
Tip 6: Cooking oil plays an important role in cooking. This must be devoid of hydrogenated fat or trans-fat. Use natural and heart healthy cooking oil. Olive oil is the most healthy monosaturated cooking oil.
Tip 7: Sodium is the main culprit for high blood pressure and it should be avoided in our diet.High amount of sodium may cause stroke and kidney problems. A healthy person need 2300 mg/per day intake of sodium. People with health problem must check their sodium intake.

Tip 8: Appropriate amount of salt and sweet are good friend of chef and of healthy person. It has been reported that artificial sweeteners are the substitute for natural sugar. There is controversy for their use. If possible, avoid artificial sweeteners and food items which contain it.
