It is always important to welcome good news. Take a look at this small but inspiring story and ask yourself how you celebrate success.
The Man I Did Not Know
I met a man yesterday I didn't know. It was a chance meeting at a random place and time. The type of meeting that would not normally have happened, but for the day that we were both traveling through.. He had some news; news that was really positive - for him. His news: he no longer had cancer.
He had successfully completed an operation to remove his cancer. Yesterday, at the time of the chance meeting he had been for tests, that confirmed he was now cancer free.
Good news indeed for him and cause for celebration. I congratulated him on his good news and somehow I got the feeling that I was the first person he had told; an honour indeed.
Welcoming Good News
It is always important to welcome good news; even if is that of the good news of a stranger in a passing moment in time. You must offer your congratulations; and in some circumstances that is all you can offer before parting company.
My family has a tradition of celebrating personal good news. We have done it for a long time, even at times when finances were hard. It is an uplifting thing to do; you will always feel better after celebrating small successes. It is a case of one element of good news building on another. Before too long success breads success.
