Easy to follow tips & tricks for getting summer ready skin.

If you’re anything like myself then as soon as the English sun breaks through those thick clouds, immediate panic sets in.

Although I love absolutely everything about summer, the pretty colours, eating breakfast outdoors and of course the prospect of summer holidays. It does take my body a while to adjust to the changes in temperature, meaning I must ditch my winter coat, jeans and jackets for something far lighter and more revealing. Whether you’re planning on stripping right down to the bikini or simply show a little more skin – there is plenty you can do to prep your skin.

Breakouts on Your Chest and Back?

During the warmer months, naturally, your skin sweats far more. This may be because your layering up in clothing or perhaps slapping on the sun cream. Don’t stop with the sun cream, instead, begin using body wash that contains salicylic or benzoyl peroxide to ensure you are killing off all bacteria and unclogging those pores. Use this wash up to three times a week, once you get used to doing so this should become a fundamental part of your summer beauty regime.

Prep Your Feet

After a season of trekking around in heavy boots and thick socks your feet are more than likely a little under loved. The result is a build of hard layers of skin which eventually can become quite painful.

A quick fix is to by yourself a foot friendly lotion, this will soften the skin making it summer ready. Soak your feet in bath salts and gently exfoliate with a gentle foot scrub, all easily found in your local.

Hair Removal

For those of you who wish to remove all signs of hair growth, summer demands you to be super-hot on your heals. Many people don’t know that our legs don’t actually produce enough oil to keep them as soft as we desire. Hence why it’s so important we exfoliate and add moisture.

Shaving can be very rough on our skin which is why I always opt for waxing during the summer months. It lasts far longer meaning it’s one less thing to have to worry about. My tips to get the most out of your shaving routine is to drink plenty of water in the lead up (this is something you should be doing anyway). And finally, do not exfoliate on the day. This should be done at least three days prior, nobody like in grown hairs.

Once you have exfoliated, cleansed and moisturised your beautiful skin. It’s time to get bronzed. Fake tanning for many woman is a bit of a guilty secret. I however, love it. There is nothing quite like the feeling of a summer glow. Your confidence grows and smile beams. How to do you know you are getting the best fake tan? I recommend a mouse based product. They are super easy to apply and from my experience never leave a streak.
