Food must be balanced and nutritious. Eating food that help prevent ageing and food rich in nutrients that boost the metabolic system helps to keep us vigorous. Anti-ageing and aphrodisiac foods have been around for a long time and here we discuss its benefits.

Body needs food

Our body requires food from which it synthesizes energy by breaking down the sugar. Of the 2543 calories (1963 calories for women) required, our food must contain a balanced amount of fats, proteins and carbohydrates. We must also consume vegetables, fruits and nuts that supply good amounts of vitamins and minerals that our body needs for hormone synthesis and cell building but is able to process it on its own. This phenomenon is more pronounced as one grows older.

Difference between aphrodisiac and anti-ageing foods

Most anti-aging and aphrodisiac foods are best eaten raw. This preserves enzymes that help in fighting diseases like cancer and toxins. Main difference between the two is aphrodisiac food increases blood flow through genitals and increases hormone production while the anti-aging foods fight formation of toxins and enzyme secretions responsible for aging. These two provide interchangeable benefits to our body since both boost health levels.

List of nutiritous foods

a) Oyster: Oysters raw or lightly cooked have been consumed by people for ages to increase sex drive. Zinc increases libido and sperm production.
b) Honey: honey is apt source for boron, a mineral that boosts estrogen – female sex hormone levels. It may also be responsible for boosting male hormone testosterone levels. It is required for achieving orgasm for both men and women.
c) Garlic and ginger: Garlic increases blood flow and thus enhance sex drive. Garlic thins the blood, keeps unearthly creatures out of the house, stops cell degeneration and prevents influenza. Ginger rejuvenates cells and washes out toxins.
d) Tomatoes: Tomato is an anti-aging food best for preserving healthy and glowing skin especially for people living in hot temperate zones. Lycopene present in tomatoes prevent oxidation that occurs in skin.
e) Red wine: Red wine forms a part of Italian or French cuisine. Wine repairs damaged cells through the action of an antioxidant on free radicals present in the body.
f) Chilies: Chilies have capsaicin that increase blood flow and makes nerve endings tingling and hyperactive.
g) Chocolate: Most popular aphrodisiac has plenty of chemicals including love chemical phenylethylamine responsible for releasing dopamine the feel good chemical. Cacao contains tryptophan one of the essential components of serotonin a neurotransmitter involved in promoting feelings of relaxation and well being.
h) Bananas: Said to increase male libido because it contains enzyme bromeliad, bananas also contain many health giving components like magnesium, vitamin B and potassium. It has chelating minerals too.
i) Indian gooseberries: Gooseberries have plenty of vitamin C that helps fight free radicals and thus prevent aging. This anti-aging food detoxifies the liver, boosts the immune system and gives you healthy glowing skin.
j) Green leafy vegetables: Among anti-aging foods, cruciferous vegetables are useful in helping fight free radicals that lead to cancer and similar diseases. It includes radish, turnips, cabbage, cauliflower and broccoli. One should have them lightly cooked since over cooking will destroy all the enzymes.

Eating enough quantities of nutritious food boosts our body immune system and protects it in the event of infections and diseases. It also keeps the metabolism ticking at required rate so that bodily functions are carried out with precision and ease. Eating aphrodisiac foods makes person vigorous. Remember to supplement your diet with enough exercise. Even a simple thing like walking for half-an-hour will keep you fit as a fiddle.

I know love can happen year-round, but I might have saved an article like this for Valentine's Day. What am I saying? I RARELY eat food raw and am too picky an eater anyway! To each his or her own. I'm glad you're writing and posting.
