Our present state has its basis on our past reactions and responses to our interactions with, and in, life. It is useful, and heartening, to remember that each of us has a worthy mission and purpose to live for, and fulfill - and that we are fully equipped for the mission.

A hesitant heroine

Nature's whimsical moment,
A moment of oddity,
That a chick, yet flightless,
Had to tend to her wounded sibling,
A chick barely out of the nest,
Had to take hits to her wings,
And keep flying, to dodge the vultures.

The pain was oft excruciating,
Her mien, oft as one at the end of her tether.

Yet, a pair of moist eyes watched with pride and care,
Ever alert, ever lending an invisible hand,
Ever whispering deep in her heart,
Ever lighting a new path,
When the chick seemed to be in the deepest abyss.

The wise eyes knew the future,
Where the latent fountain would issue forth,
In a gushing expression of empathy and solidarity,
At just the right moment,
To just the fortunate chosen ones,
In one stroke dismissing the timid tendencies,
In one eruption, declaring her confidence and heroism,
In one timeless moment, immortalizing her smile.
