1/4 of all pregnancies ends in abortion. Is this too high?

Why is this the case?

In a society where you can get your hands on birth control just as easily as a 10 pence mix, why is it that one quarter of all pregnancies still ends in abortion?

Most men and women have the availability of free contraception from their local walk in centre, but clearly not enough people are taking up this opportunity.

Now, with this being the statistic, it would seem that only 75% of pregnancies actually result in a live baby, but even this is not the case. This doesn’t take account of those pregnancies which end in miscarriage, or still born children. So, the actual number of pregnancies which continues right until the end is more around the sixty percent mark.

Surely something has to be done in today’s society to prevent things like this from happening? People need to be educated more, so that they don’t get pregnant and have abortions as though they’re dental check ups.
