Meditation is practiced many different ways. You must find what best suits you. Generally, one does deep breathing, in a sitting position. Some people like to listen to soft music while meditating. There are several guided meditation programs out there to help you learn just how to meditate.


Yoga is a slow-moving way to exercise. There are many different types of yoga from basic just for the relaxation purposes through very in-depth spiritual yoga. What type of yoga you do depends on what you are looking to get out of the practice?


Listening to your favorite music can be very relaxing. Most specialists recommend soft uplifting music for stress. Listening to the sounds of nature like rain or water running is very relaxing and tends to help most people with stress deduction.

Do Something Creative

Painting, writing, or building something with your hands keeps your mind off the things that are causing your stress. Small light strokes of the hands tend to slow the mind down reducing stress. Not only will you reduce your stress but also you will have something nice that you made yourself.

Watch Televisions or a Movie

Take the time to watch television or a movie is like a little getaway from the stress of your day. Enjoy sitting with your family watching your favorite movie or TV show. Not only does it lighten the stress of the day but also you always have quality time with your family.

There are many ways to help reduce stress. Remember everyone is different, what works for you may not work for someone else. Learning how to deal with stress is a critical self-awareness exercise. It is something that everyone should know how to do.

My tried and trusted way of reducing stress is to watch level headed soaps and movies on tv. I have never given though to yoga and mediation though they are becoming more popular in these times.
