One study found that eating carrots regularly can reduce the risk of prostate cancer by 20%.

Introduction

Carrot is a vegetable that is easy to obtain both in supermarkets and traditional markets. Carrots can also be entered in a variety of cuisines. These vegetables are relatively cheap, but provide great benefit to health, one is for the eyes. According to a new study carrot has other functions as vegetables that can prevent prostate cancer.

Prostate cancer is one of the top ranked cancer types are more common in American men. In 2014, the American Cancer Society estimates that 233,000 new cases of prostate cancer have been diagnosed and approximately 29, 480 of them are known to have died because the disease.

Because of the high mortality due to prostate cancer, it is very important for us to know the preventive actions.

New research on the benefits of carrots to prevent prostate cancer

Some researchers and the Zhejiang University, China analyzed 10 different studies on the anti-cancer benefits of carrots. Some of these studies showed a benefit of carrots as a significant anti prostate cancer, while others did not find. After collecting the data, the scientists found that one of the benefits of carrots is preventing prostate cancer, but it depends on how often someone is eating carrots.

The researchers found that those who ate carrots at least three times a week were 18 percent less likely to suffer from prostate cancer.

Why carrots can prevent prostate cancer? In this case, beta-carotene and lycopene take a big role. Both of these compounds are compounds that have great anti-cancer properties.

The researchers say, "We found a decreased risk of prostate cancer was significantly associated with a high intake of carrots." "Several potential mechanisms could explain the relationship between eating carrots and risk of prostate cancer. However, further research is necessary to develop deeper to confirm these findings."

However, a doctor of Prostate Cancer UK, Dr. Other Frame said that this research does not always prove causation, that the people who want to reduce the risk of cancer can eat healthy foods, including vegetables other than carrots which provide the same benefits.

"Although there are general health benefits associated with a balanced diet rich in vegetables, none of which showed that one particular vegetables are better than others," said Dr. Frame.

Dr Frame seems to downplay the role of diet in preventing cancer. However, people who are at risk of cancer should be aware of the health benefits offered vegetables, including carrots.
