Kidneys are vital organ of our body which should be maintained properly. Various diseases can affect kidney health, vice versa kidney health also affect overall body health.

Chatter Around the Kidneys

Kidney is an organ that has a vital role in the urinary system, the regulation of body electrolytes, maintenance of acid-base balance in the body, and regulating blood pressure by maintaining the salt and water balance in the body. Kidney filter the blood that carries substances of the body metabolism rest such as urea and ammonium, to drain into the bladder and discarded it in the form of urine. The kidneys are also responsible for the reabsorption of water, glucose, and amino acids. The kidneys produce the hormone calcitriol, erythropoietin, and enzyme renin.
This heavy work is divided in half between the two kidneys with no specificity for each kidney. This means there is a possibility for people to live with one kidney, because studies have shown that one kidney left in the body has adaptability and can take over all the duties of kidneys which normally do by a pair of kidneys .
Even so, of course, we have to remember that having one kidney is not as perfect as a pair of kidneys. The owner of one kidney have to keep the kidney more carefully, because if there are problems with the kidney, there is no other kidney to replace the duty unless action is taken help from outside the body such as dialysis or kidney transplantation which is not easy and certainly not cheap too.
How to maintain healthy kidneys? The most important key of course maintain overall body health. The owner of one kidney could not work too hard. The other main thing of course is to keep the food intake. Fibrous foods and white water will ease kidneys work. Fiber foods will help the body absorb the necessary substances to the body well, so not much is wasted and dissolved with dirty blood which causes the kidneys work harder to filter out substances that are not needed by the body.
One more thing that can aggravate kidney workload is consumption of drugs. That's why many drugs can not be taken carelessly without your doctor's instructions. Even the-counter medications write a warning on their packaging not to consume the drug in the long run. In many cases, patient's with a chronic or acute diseases such as heart disease, high blood pressure and others that should not stop taking daily medication, have experienced complications with their kidneys and get a renal failure is not due to their illness, but because of the drugs that should be consumed without a break.
