Puffy eyes or swelling around the eyes, refers to the appearance of swelling in the tissues around the eyes, called the orbits. It is almost exclusively caused by fluid buildup around the eyes, or periorbital edema. Minor puffiness usually detectable below the eyes only is often called eye bags.

The power of spoons

Spoons are eating utensils and for food preparation but they are also useful as an alternative tools that provide relief for puffy eyes and eye bags.

Spoon is a type of cutlery sometimes called flatware in the United States, especially as part of a place setting. It is used primarily for serving and in food preparation to measure, mix, stir and toss ingredients. Spoons can be made from metal such as flat silver or silverware, plated or solid, wood, porcelain or plastic.

Spoon kicks off puffy eyes and eye bags

There are creative ways to kick off puffy eyes and eye bags – one can apply spoon. This is a practical way and no side effects. This help relief puffy eyes and eye bags caused either by lack of sleep and allergies.

This is what you would do:

  • Freeze the spoon in the freezer of your fridge for about thirty minutes to one-hour.
  • And then apply the frozen spoon slowly to eyelids and around the swelling area of the eyes for at least three to five minutes long.
  • Have patient – do it again and again until you see your eye bags and puffy eyes are no more.

From spoon to cucumber and potato

It is said that a cold compress near the eye can act as a short-term remedy as cold temperature constricts blood vessels, preventing the flow of fluid into tissues and diminishing puffiness in the process. Aside from spoon, a natural astringent, such as a sliced cucumber or even potato can provide short-term relief too for puffy eye and eye bags.
