Curing a Headache! Deep Breathing to Get Better.

Headaches are bothersome, here's another option rather than taking pills.

Breathe Deep and Relieve Your Headache

When most of us have a nagging headache, we want to get rid of it as soon as possible. Most of us go directly to the medicine cabinet and reach for a bottle of some kind of fast acting headache or pain pill. That is the quick solution for the problem when a headache slows us down and makes us miserable.

But there is another way to eliminate a bad headache that is available that does not cost one cent, just a little patience. A lot of the time when we have a headache it is because our brains are lacking in oxygen. So the best way to provide more oxygen to our brains is to breathe deeply forcing air into our brain.

Sit relaxed and start to breathe slowly and deeply, holding your breath at the end of each deep breath and slowly letting it out. Keep your mouth closed as you breathe
in through your nose and out through your nose. Stop and do it again. Do this several times as long and as deep as you can. Your headache should start to be relieved at the end of the sessions.

A second way to end the headache would be to breathe like a blowfish. Relax the same way, breathe in, hold your breath, then force air upward to your brain by breathing in and out with your mouth closed and your jaws going in and out like a blow fish, while holding your breath, then blow the air out. Breathe in again and repeat the process a few times. At the end of this blowfish breathing technique your headache should leave. Do not blow hard, but do it several times to get the air to your brain. Oxygen starvation makes the head hurt, sometimes we are not even aware that our brain needs more air.

Try one of these methods the next time you have a headache and see if it works.
It does for me. It also lessens the habit of taking pills for the problem. There is also
a report that you will be able to lose weight by practicing repeated sessions of deep breathing. Good luck.

this is interesting -- i will send your article to a few of my friends who are always complaining of headaches... i use vicks-- around the tense parts of my head and my nose to breathe and relieve pressure..but i learned a very interesting lesson thank- you--i rarely get headaches so i guess i got good air -- i use to when i smoked -- well see that proves your theory...

is working hold that breath hard and fast as soon as you feel it hold it shortly or all day long as you need too i do it driving down the road haha haaa!
