Cyberbullying is a serious crime, punishable to the full extent of the law. Did you know that there're different types of Cyberbullys? Yep! Cyberstalkers have classifications and exact mindsets. There's a method to the madness. Read on my friend...

The Intimate X-Relationship Cyberbully

This type of cyberbully is common. Common off-line and on. A partner or x-partner, who refuses to accept the end of a relationship is an " Intimate X-Relationship Cyberbully". They have no intention of accepting the demise of the love fests. They are locked into the past. They refuse to move on. The grass is greener right where they sit. The Intimate X-Relationship Cyberbully is as stubborn as a mule. No matter what you do or say, they just won't go away. They won't leave you alone. The love has died, but they intend to revive it. What you say and how you feel is of no importance. They are on a mission to force you to cling close forever.

The Revengeful Cyberbully

Cyberbullys are a menace on-line. The most dangerous cyber-criminal is " The Revengeful Cyberbully ". They seek revenge like it's going outta' style. They're addicted to getting even. You hurt them and their vendetta is to hurt you back. Forgiveness is a word they never heard of. You may be innocent of wrong doing. Either way, the revengeful cyberbully lusts after revenge. This class of cyberbully may never have met you. Their victims can include politicians, other government figures, or they may target an organizations. Whoever they obsess over, is in for a barrage of scathing emails, blog comments and more.

The Cyberbully with Delusions

This class of cyberbully has a history of mental illness. Their diagnosis may include schizophrenia or bipolar illness. They may even create a boatload of different monikers. They most likely have abandoned medication and exist in a world of fantasy. Obsessive compulsion could be a symptom as well. Some may spend hours in a typing frenzy. Their world is sprinkled with reality and overshadowed by delusion. The delusional cyberbully is unable to sort truth from falsehood. At times they experience moments of clarity. Then delusions kick in and their ramblings get bizarre.

The Cyberbully who Harasses

Some cyberbullies have an attention seeking personality. Such are not cyberbullies in the true sense of the word. This type likes to pester anyone who will give them attention. Cybullys that harass on-line, target vulnerable people. If you give them a sympathetic ear you better watch out. You'll become their own personal sounding board. By the time they get finished, you'll want to chuck your computer. The harassing cyberbully may claim you are stalking them. Meanwhile, their accusations are complete fabrications. If you charge for consultations you'd never be out of work.

The Cyberbully Troll

The cyberbully troll wants more credibility than they deserve. They live to draw people into their pointless, emotionally draining babble. The cyberbully troll, loves to play turncoat and plays people against each other. This class of cyberbully delights in hurting other peoples feelings. They are full of strife and want everyone else to stir-up trouble, just like they do.

It seems to me that these are people who feel powerless and use their internet bullying as a way to gain power. Great article. Thank you, Marlene.

Isn't it awful Carol K. Yes, they feel powerless and their efforts make them less powerful. They've lost all self-respect and shame. Thank you so much for commenting on this one.

Yes, I completely agree that it makes them less powerful, but somewhere in their twisted minds, they think they can gain power by bullying in this way. I've seen it happening with Shining Star.

You've done an excellent job with this article. Thank you for spreading awareness. The cyberbully who has been harassing me repeatedly for several months now and who also writes on this site with various aliases, falls under the following two categories: the cyberbully with delusions, the cyberbully who harasses and the troll. Thank you Marlene.

Thabk you for this Marlene. I have been dealing with a troll who makes repeated attempts to drag me into pointless arguments about religion. Even went as far as to tell me my my first-born and her children are damned to hell because she was born out of wedlock. Tried to back up that argument with scripture.
