Dangerous Wishes

Have you ever considered the impact of impuslive wishing? Should all wishes come true, or should we think more carefully about what we wish for?

Dangerous Wishes

You know that phrase - be careful what you wish for because you might not like it if it comes true? I was thinking about that the other day, just as I was wishing I could win the lottery!!!

Thinking about my energetic intention behind the wish, I was challenged to see that it was probably not the best thing for me. Was I really in my power when I made it? Was my wish best for me and did it support my soul purpose?? I think there is a lot of wisdom in that old saying.

What if I had won the money?? It might solve some short term worries - but would the extra money help me learn my life lessons? The tough realisation for me was that even though I had blindly wished to win, it probably wasn't actually in my best interests to have the money. I need to actively improve my relationship to money, and learn to plan better. Winning the lottery would have denied me the chance to learn those lessons, and would have been a quick fix. It might have seemed nice initially, yet I can imagine that spiritually I would have realised that I did not like geting money by not working for it. When I think about it honestly I can see why the universe probably has not planned for me to win the lottery in this life time!!

I was wondering about where this idea for wishing had come from and realised that some of the self help and spiritual books on the market encourage us to ask for universal help to make wishes come true and to attract our wildest dreams. Just wishing blindly seems too simplisitc and potentially dangerous. Clearly not all wishes can come true. I have not yet won the lottery!!

How can I wish positively? How can I know that a wish is in my best interests and follows my soul path?? How can I step into this potentially powerful energy and do the best for myself and the world I share with everyone else??

My experience shows me that if something is not for me and not on my soul path I can wish and wish and wish, and nothing will happen. This seems to be because the wish is really not for me, it is the wrong timing or ego is too much at play. Either way, the universe seems to find ways to block me from going down one path, and forces me to persue other directions, and start other dreams.

When I am in flow, I can feel when something is for me. People, information and ideas come along to support my wish. This shows me when something is right, and when I am on target with my dreams. When this happens I need to be patient, and to show discernment with the choices I make. Sometimes things come along that look as if they could be part of my soul purpose, yet they are not. This is when I need to keep ego in check, and to keep hold of my dream, and not let a quick fix take me off path. The trick seems to be in finding balance between following our biggest dreams and keeping these earthed based and practical.

The saying seems to hold much old wisdom and truth. Yes I need to be careful about what I wish for. If I wish for something from ego, negative energy or pain, I may get it, and it will almost certainly not be the best thing for me, and I will probably not like the result!! If I can wish for something that supports my personal growth and spiritual journey the universe seems to be more willing to work to bring the wish through. I just need to stay awake and observant for signs and signals that the wish is in my life.

Maybe we should invent a new saying ' wish from the heart and not from the head to reach your wildest dreams'.??

Good share indeed. If we fervently wish for something beyond our scope and stay fixated on that it can become a reality, but it will soon prove not our cup of tea or even our bane leading to pain and downfall. For a man to marry a very beautiful woman is a dream but it may prove unwise later. I believe in allowing things to develop own way than reaching for the sky - siva

Haha - thought came to my mind when reading your reply - reaching for the sky is not such a good thing! The noxious chemicals that fill the atmosphere can be deadly! Better keep your feet on the ground rather than your eyes in the sky!

Your thought process here is very commendable. After all, money is the root of all evil! Not that it, itself, is evil, but we have a tendency to forget the important things - mostly our spirituality- because we are having too much fun having our minds on all the fun we can have!
