Coffee Addition: The Good side

Too much of something is not good as the cliché goes but how can I remove such addition if it streams from my veins like it was part of me from the start. I am publicly known coffee freak—coffee addict as some of them call me. Some of my friends would insist that coffee is detrimental to one’s health at some point I agree but I am extremely bias they don’t know everything.

Based on my readings and consultation with medical practitioners, coffee has multitude of benefits:

1. Increase Brain Power
With its caffeine content, coffee acts as a stimulant. Every time you drink coffee, you will observe that the cup gives you a kick. This happens when caffeine blocks Adenosine which is an inhibitor of our neurotransmitters. Coffee intakes have been proven to increase memory performance, improve mood during the day, and gives a boost to one’s energy.

2. Nourishes!
Coffee contains nutrients which could not be found on regular drinks. Vitamins like Riboflavin, Niacin, Vitamin B5 and mineral like Magnesium is present in your coffee. These nutrients have been known for various healthy benefits towards the body.

3. Fight back Depression
Some studies show that people who drink 3-4 cups of coffee have lower risk of depression. Harvard studies outlines that women who consume some levels have 20% lesser risk to get depress.

4. Protect
It is common knowledge that coffee is rich in antioxidants. These keep coffee drinkers protected from free radicals existing in the environment. Coffee also lowers the risk of cancers like liver cancer, heart attacks and strokes.

Don’t get me wrong, I still believe that too much is never good but with tolerable amount everything will be under control. Being a coffee addict carries with it some risk and rewards. The final judgment as to one may need help is the preponderance of its benefits and disadvantages.

I just started to drink coffee again after reading that it is actually good for you. Great article thank you Marcus

I have never been a big coffee drinker but recently I have been drinking more. Thank you for your comments. I now feel a lot better. Blessings.
