Staying healthy during retirement age is a challenge to every senior. The quality of life can only be achieved if you have the body to experience what life has to offer that is why physical programs are essential to fitness and general health. It is never too late to start with basic programs provided that there is clearance and guidance from doctor especially for those with certain conditions.

Health 101 tips for Seniors:

First and foremost, make a decision to stay healthy and be consistent.

Start simple physical activities such as breast walking, stretching, biking everyday. For other physical activities, consult first your doctor then a physical fitness expert to create a program appropriate to your age and general present health condition.

Allot everyday a designated time for your physical activity recommended in the morning. Simple activities can expand to sports activities such as tennis, badminton, swimming, and alike as long as it will not be strenuous.

Be aware of safe body mechanics to protect the back, seniors have weaker bones than they are young and much more vulnerable to injuries.

Keep your lifestyle active by interacting with other people especially with family and friends. The use of Internet significantly help seniors to have a social life in the comfort of their home while positive community activities are also best for seniors as the health permits.

Having a positive attitude in life and by being active will keep the spirit alive. It also maintains good mental health by learning new skills, reading good books, answering crossword puzzles, and keeping abreast of the latest news.
