Through ages mankind consumed this food. It is very familiar because many were addicted by its luscious, savory taste that melts in your mouth. If you don't know what it is, then be surprised that you've already eaten the 'Food of the Gods'.

Food of the Gods

Let me describe first what it looks like. According from the book of Pharmacognosy by Tyler, he described it as a tree which bear a large, ovoid, fleshy fruits that are yellow or reddish and contain 5 rows of seeds. Most of it were obtained from Ecuador.
These seeds undergo many different processes to obtain a mouth watering, addictive food.
Second clue, monkeys were first to find this plant. Thank you to our friend because now we enjoyed eating what they have found.
Third, Mayans were the first to use it as a restorative, mood enhancing cure-all according to one website. It also says that ancient people placed them in pots and offered it for burials. Hence we can say that it's been part of history, even before us.
Fourth, it is stated on the said site that it was reserved for the rich and nobles. Now you can consider yourself as a noble person.
Fifth clue, we enjoyed eating it on any occasion. Many prefer this flavor than any other, especially kids.

What is it?

Would you be surprised if I tell you that the Food of the Gods is no other that our beloved "CHOCOLATE"?
Additional information, dogs lack the enzymes that metabolize theobromine ( a substance present in chocolate). Overdosage of this substance can cause seizure and convulsion.

The website below is very informative about chocolates, its benefits and also its danger.
