Good oral health is really important and mostly it is neglected while it should be given much importance

Oral cavity possesses a great importance in our body as it is the main communication of air between internal body / organs and external environment. Despite its importance, oral cavity is the dirtiest cavity in the human body. The cavity harbors more than five hundred types of micro organisms in it. Maintaining good oral hygiene is necessary for maintaining healthy well-being of an individual; however, poor oral hygiene can lead to various oral as well as systemic problems and throat problems etc.
We should therefore strictly observe proper oral hygiene for maintain good health. In doing so, following simple steps and guidelines are recommended:
1. Brush your teeth twice a day.
2. Brush your teeth within 5-10 minutes after having breakfast and dinner.
3. Minimum time duration for brushing of teeth should be 2-4 minutes.
4. Avoid too vigorous / forceful brushing of your teeth.
5. Tongue cleaning and gentle gums massage should also be the part of our regular brushing.
6. Use good quality tooth paste having calcium and fluoride as its active/main ingredients.
7. Change your brush after three months as its bristles open up.
8. Never leave your brush uncapped in the washroom area.
9. Consult your dentist for general dental checkup at least twice a year.

Tempest - Thanks for your post. For years I have done as you have advised . . . to brush at least twice a day. This and I believe the Lord's blessing has enabled me to stay "dentist" free for 54 years. I have had a couple of wisdom teeth pulled but have never had a cavity. So yes, I am a staunch believer in brushing and acknowledging the Lord's blessings.
