Green Tee for Inner Ecology
An unexpected morning splendor with the humble tea- green tea variety.
Great, Green and Grinning
I got nasty habits; I take tea at three."
I woke up past my regular Sunday morning and decided to go to church later in the afternoon than chase the clock for the morning mass. I actually don't feel well last night and thought I had some flu so I took a paracetamol before I hit the bed.
This morning is another tranquility like the typical cloudy late December weather here in Jakarta. It's a month before the flood come rushing the urban landscape just like our neighboring Asian country had these weekend in Malaysia and Thailand. So what the best way to greet such moment like this without a newspaper on my hand but this keyboard asking me to dwell my thoughts. I need a great tea.
Yes a tea, I have a dehydrated green tea that was given to me by my wife. My lovely room mate has her vacation with our child 2 weeks ago and would not be around until 10 days from now. I took the tea out from the closet and got some milligrams to a waiting casserole and enough water. Few minutes after I was surprise seeing some kind of fresh open leaves floating instead of the "dry' crumpled one I had minutes back. I had this on my mind that it will be some kind of crush "granules" like that inside the tea bag. Hmmmm...something is telling me am up for an interesting drink. I pour it on my regular coffee mug as I smell its refreshing aroma of exotic Asian herb. Trying to calm my taste bud I grab a fresh milk and put some on the tea. I need to mix them because I have that bitter experience of green tea in commercial ready drink in the convenience store. Am still thinking of some sugar since I don't have any honey on my fridge, but I guess it doesn't need it. I just need a healthy drink today as the holidays gave me some cholesterol cobwebs on my system eating red meats, and traditional food from my country. So I sipped a little to check if it's warm enough. And wow! I felt like being pampered after a steam bath. I took some more and yes, it feels like am in tropical vacation indeed. I took a bite on my "sinukmani/biko" or some sweet rice treat just to compliment an impending sugar rush I need to complete a jolted morning. this green tea is a superb morning drink for a worthy balance ecology of our body. The expected bitter taste is not actually that strong and i felt some cleaning if not healing on my aging body. Try it and don't quote me when I said it gave me a cup of joy.
