Green tea is one of my favourite teas, due to its great taste and seemingly never ending list of health benefits. I decided to get the most from this list of benefits by purchasing green tea extract.

Tea Time!

As an Englishman, I've always been a stereotypical tea guzzler. Not just the traditional black tea with milk kind, either! I've gone through phases of having a collection of up to 20 different kinds of tea and infusions at any given time. One of my favourites, though, is green tea, due to its great taste and seemingly never ending list of health benefits. For the latter reason I thought i'd throw caution to the wind and buy some green tea extract powder (concentrated awesomeness?)

So why green tea extract?

Personally I love almost anything that's good for me! Green tea is just one of those things that offer an antioxidant fix in the form of something that I consume a lot of anyway. So why did I buy the green tea extract? Well, I've read from multiple sources about how green tea is great for the heart, the immune system, digestion and metabolism and even in warding off several kinds of cancer. However, to get the full benefits of the tea man people suggest drinking about 5 cups of green tea a day. This is perfectly doable, especially for an avid tea drinker such as myself, but i wanted something more concentrated which would essentially give me all the goodness i need in one sitting. That's the good thing about the green tea extract, you get what you would normally get from those 5 cups of tea in 2 seconds flat!

I guess you could call me one of the laziest and impatient health fanatics out there!

I would have to agree Ben, green tea has ab edge over most teas because it has such a vast array of health benefits and I suppose if you are in a hurry to get your fix of antioxidants then green tea extract is the way to go, but if you enjoy green tea there is no substitute for loose leaf infusion as it allows a proper balance between tannin levels and the complex flavors of quality loose green tea, certainly if left to sufficiently infuse. Greys teas offers over 100 loose leave speciality teas and are responsible for some of the best teas I have ever had. http://greysteas.co.uk
