This pages provides the pros and cons of chewing gum, and some advice on choosing gum.

To Chew

- can help you focus
- can improve your breath
- can whiten your teeth
- burns a couple calories and is lo-cal
- fun to chew
- can be used to seal up a small leak in a canoe(but probably not)

Not to Chew

- can rot your teeth
- excessive chewing can cause jaw problems
- sticky
- so many chemicals
- can make annoying chomping noises if you don't chew it correctly

Today, there are so many different flavors of gum. First, there is your classic mint, which there is peppermint, spearmint, and so many other types. Then there's cinnamon. There's also bubble gum flavored, and many different fruity flavors. How does one choose what kind of gum to buy? Well if they want to freshen their breath, they should go for a mint or cinnamon. If they want a fun flavor, they should try one of the fruity ones. If you want to freshen your breath, while at the same time enjoying a fun flavor, try one thats's both fruity and minty at the same time. Another alternative is to chew a piece of minty gum, and a piece of fruity gum simultaneously.

To Chew or Not To Chew?

There are many benefits, ans well as negative effects of chewing gum. My opinion is go ahead, chew gum, but only in moderation. Limit your gum intake to 2 packs per month, or one piece per day.
