Lifetime Fitness Gym is an excellent way to meet people in the singles scene and get a great workout.

Singles Club or Gym?

As I am a health nut and exercise fiend, I go to the gym at least 4 times a week. I workout at a gym called Lifetime Fitness that has locations around the United States. My particular location has just about everything one could desire from a gym. There are free weights, cardio machines, assisted lifting machines, personal trainers, workout classes, an outside and inside pool, an outside and inside hot tub, basketball courts, racquetball courts, a spa, a sauna, a cafe, a beauty shop, locker rooms that have a steam room and multiple showers, and many other features that I'm sure I've forgotten. The gym is obviously somewhere that you can get a great workout, and caters to whatever type of fitness you may desire. However, what I always seem to notice are the people. The age group consists of primarily mid twenties to mid thirties adults and they almost always seem to be single. I don't think that this is a coincidence either. Lifetime Fitness seems to attract younger, single people who want to meet other fitness minded singles. I am always astounded at the "peacocking" that I see other males succumb to in attempt to gain the attention of nearby females. I have seen males resort to grunting loudly during a set, staring blatantly at other scantily clad women, attempting to talk loudly to their buddies next to another female, choosing an exercise machine next to an attractive female and then starting a conversation, tanning outside next to females, or just dressing to attract the attention of other females. This last effort is always my favorite and deserves more detail. Typically when a male succumbs to the level of "dressing to impress", it involves a tight/sleeveless workout shirt that shows off their muscles (and very often their creative tatoos), gelled or styled hair, and very colorful shoes. For some reason in today's fashion colorful shoes seem to be the "cool" thing to do. Anyways, these are just a few of the tactics in the male arsenal. But the women are just as guilty of showing off their assets. It's always easy to spot the ones who are there to "be noticed" because they are usually also wearing colorful shoes and not much else (usually a sports bra and spanks). All of this to say that it is quite the singles scene at your local Lifetime Fitness.
As far as the gym itself goes, if you enjoy spending a lot of time honing your body and desire a large variety of exercise methods this is the place for you. The staff is very helpful with anything that you may need, and if you are in college they offer a special membership plan that allows you to only pay during the summer months that you are not in school. There are summer programs for children, special workout "camps", and trainers that can teach you how to workout or cater to a specific need that you may have. All in all, I recommend the gym and think that it is a great place to workout and have some fun. So if you're single and ready to mingle, you should see if your city has a Lifetime Fitness.

First of all.... Welcome to Wikinut and I look forward to reading more of your articles. I find the gym a great place to be able to find a date, you and the one you would like to go out already have one big thing in common, you are both active and health conscience. You would be surprised how many people get together (then fail) that have even less than that in common when they get married. Nice read. Thank you for sharing.:)

Now one of the the locations is the gym! I liked the apt expression "peacocking"! Mutual attraction trumps all else, sometimesI Two birds with one shot as they say! I liked Denise's cautionary, sensible comments (warnings?) too! siva
