Thought of the Day: Health is Wealth

If we don’t take care of ourselves, we have chances of getting sick or the worst thing is getting a lifetime disease. And if we get sick, we tend to take a leave of absence in our work in or in our school. In that case, we might show low energy in our performances. And the worst scenario would be, getting rushed to the hospital and be confined in a few days. Would you like that to happen to you? Me, I won’t like it.

It was in a middle of the night then, I was rushed to the hospital by my mother, because of abusing of eating too much during dinner time. My meal is this big chicken burger with lettuce and tomato and paired with one bottle of soda. As I eat, I don’t feel anything yet but as I slept having a full tummy, that’s the point my heart starts to ache. It seems like something is holding my breath that time. At the hospital, the doctor in charged asked for what I feel. And the doctor said it was GERD (Gastroesophageal reflux disease). You might think is a simple pain but it is not. You might be mistaken a heart ache as a factor of symptoms but it was a heart burn. At that time I realized that I should changed my eating manners and also my lifestyle.

Not only need to ensure that our body is equipped with the right nutrition we should keep an eye on what we eat and drink. We must avoid eating too much of something that we love to eat.

There are many ways to protect ourselves and live a healthy lifestyle. First of all we need to check on what we eat. We must eat healthy and nutritious food. A balance diet is a must!

If we eat too much fatty or too much sweet, it may affect also our health. We can search throughout the internet suggestions or alternatives on how to substitute your scrumptious sinful meal and transform it in a healthy manner. For example, you love a quarter pound burger. You can eliminate too much usage of meat, instead eat veggie burger. Another example, you love eating a full course plate of double chocolate cake. Why not replace it we a fruit that something sweet but very healthy. At first you will not be able to get use to it but time passes by you’ll realize that changing your eating manners such as eating in big portions of meat, sweets and unhealthy beverages such as beers has eventually changed you to not only as person but also a person living a healthy lifestyle.

Second, we must get enough sleep. An adult is required to have 7-9 hours sleep, according to one article I’ve read. Having enough sleep regenerate your body cells and restores energy. When we sleep our body rejuvenates. Sleeps makes our hearts healthy, reduces the chances of getting sick such as mood disorders, diabetes, body weight problems and also can develop our memory. It decreases the amount of stress in our daily lifestyle. After getting enough sleep, when we woke up we feel much better, brighter, and full of energy and our thoughts are much clearer. And if we don’t get that enough sleep, our mood is affected, our focus to work gets affected and our capability to .gain knowledge more that day is weakened. Having the right amount of sleep in a regular basis will make you live longer and healthier and improves our proper functioning as an individual.

Third, get away from too much stress from activities that we do as much as possible. Too much stress might affect our daily lives and routine. It may affect also our mood towards the people we come along with during the day. Too much thinking towards problem at work/school or at home or thinking of things such as paying the bills attracts stress. It is also important that we must learn to set aside problems. Cause problems that might accumulate can result to too much stress. Let us say that stress is already a part of our lives, but we must know how to manage it. Regular exercise is suggested in order to reduce stress. For example, simple walking in an open garden or a place where you think you can have an exercise. A walk through the gym might be also effective. You must know how to relax. Relaxation has different options that you can choose from such as meditation, yoga or a simple deep breathing exercise.

Fourth, interact with friends and family. There are many advantages when you have social interaction with friends and families. Not only has that it increases the bond between your families and friends but also, encourages you to know more about your family members and friends as well. As the saying goes, “No man is an island”. Every human in this planet needs to be loved and to love. Everything can make a difference if you have a friend and family to lean on. Communication and getting in touch with others helps you to share your happiness and sadness with people you are close with and even those people are not close with. Also some studies had shown, strong close social ties lower the chances of getting sick such as to simple colds, low blood pressure rates heart ailments and as to having a mental illness like suicidal tendencies.

Most importantly, one must know how to enjoy his or her life. Having a healthy mind and body is good but also enjoying life is far much better. There are so many arrays of things you can enjoy in life. You can do it alone or you can do it with your loved ones. Think of things that you enjoy doing without sacrificing your health and well-being. But the thing is, you enjoyed. Set aside all your problems while doing these activities. Swimming, scuba diving, mountain climbing and other outdoor activities might be one that can interest you.

You must live your life to the fullest. Live a healthy lifestyle. Always remember If you have health, you probably will be happy, and if you have health and happiness, you have all the wealth you need, even if it is not all you want. ~Elbert Hubbard

what makes the Fast Food, Junk Food is the combination of wrong nutrition together: All the fast food restaurants offer meals with Meat and Fries, together. This is the top 1 unhealthy mixture. Starch, polysaccharide and protein, fiber never must digest in the same meal. I've read this from a dietitian's book of healthy receipts. Fries and Meat is almost impossible to digest together.
