I recently discovered the amazing results when using essential oils.

Diagnosis: Rare cancer - Malignant Phyllodes Tumor

In April of 2013, I discovered a lump in my right breast. In May of that same year, a biopsy was performed and the pathology said it was benign. But, in October of 2013, the tumor grew fast and large. It was removed and diagnosed as a rare cancer, Malignant Phyllodes Tumor. Each year, only 1% of the US population or approximately 500 people will ever hear this diagnosis.

In December of 2013, I was prescribed a series of 33 sessions of radiation. In January of 2014 with only 3 treatments left, a new tumor surfaced. The cancer had metastasized. It would metastasize two more times within just a few short weeks.

It became clear that my current medical team didn't have enough knowledge to help me with what I needed. I sought out the help of a Sarcoma Oncologist and was assigned a new medical team which included a Surgeon Oncologist, Chemo Oncologist and a Tumor board that met once a week to discuss my case.

My journey with chemo therapy begins.

It was decided that I would undergo 5 cycles of chemo therapy. I would be admitted into the hospital for 5 days at a time, return home for 2 weeks plus a couple of days and if my white blood count returned to normal by that time, I would be readmitted for the next cycle of chemo.

The first cycle of chemo was very difficult. They used 100% strength of two different chemo therapies. I felt so sick and had forgotten all of my tools to get through a difficult time. I wished I would die and questioned whether I had even made the right decision to go through chemo therapy.

Within a few days of being discharged from the hospital, I had a fever of 101.0. My port which was used to administer the chemo had become infected and I had sepsis.

The port was surgically removed and a PICC (Peripherally Inserted Central Catheter) was surgically inserted into one of my veins in my arm.

Eight (8) days later, I was discharged from the hospital and began to prepare for the next cycle of chemo.

My friend Lori - a true Angel.

My friend Lori reached out to me after my experience and said that she was coming to take care of me after my second cycle of chemo and she would not take "No" for an answer.

She was my angel in more ways than one. She cooked for us, took me to my doctor appointments and anything else that we needed. She nursed me back to health and helped me to begin to regain some of my energy.

But, there was this one moment that would be pivotal. One day, the anti nausea medication had worn off. I was feeling sick to my stomach. She brought some of her essential oils made by dōTERRA which are (CPTG) Certified Pure Therapeutic Grade® essential oils. I put some of that on my stomach and neck and it calmed my stomach.

I was so grateful and thankful for her and her oils.

My normal cheery attitude had returned and I had a peace. I surrendered my fate to God. I asked that I would get through this and live to do something great with the experience, however, I was not afraid to die and accepted that as a possibility with peace and love in my heart.

My sister, Linda, nursed me through 3 more cycles of chemo.

I continued through three (3) more cycles of chemo therapy with just some minor issues. My sister, Linda, came to our home the first week after I was discharged and cooked for us. This enabled me to preserve my strength and then I would be independent for the following week until I returned for my next cycle of chemo.

Returning to work after a 1 year leave of absence.

In November of 2014, I returned to work after a year long leave of absence and thrived with my new team and my new project. I knew it would be short lived as my position was going to be moved to another part of the City. I had the option to move, but wanted to remain in our community.

My manager sent out an email to the team saying that my passion, professionalism and strong attention to detail will leave a legacy. It was such a victory for me.

After 30 years in the High Tech work space, I officially retired on February 13, 2015.

Learning how valuable essential oils can be.

I am now 8 months cancer free. Over the course of a year, I fine tuned how I thought, what was important to me and finding ways to remain as healthy as I could with what I knew.

In February, I had a sore throat and it quickly turned into the flu. I lost my voice and couldn't speak. My friend Lori, who introduced me to dōTERRA products, suggested I buy the "On Guard Protecting Throat Drops"

As soon as they arrived, I opened one up and popped it into my mouth. Within 10 minutes, I had a voice. I was astounded. I hadn't been able to speak for days and now I had a voice. This was amazing!! .

dōTERRA was now two for two - the "Digestzen" from last year and now the "On Guard Protecting Throat Drops".

I decided to join dōTERRA as a "Wellness Advocate" so that I could begin to help others.

My husband benefits from essential oils.

My husband had been coughing for over 6 weeks. It was bad. There were times he coughed so hard, he vomited. I took him to Urgent Care where they prescribed two types of cough medicine and two types of antihistamines. None of these were effective. We called the doctor asking if there was anything else that she could do for him as it was unbearable. The doctor said he would just need to ride it out.

I reached out to the dōTERRA community asking how I could help my husband. They provided a list of essential oils that if combined with a carrier oil such as coconut or olive could provide him with relief.

I applied the oils to his chest, throat, back of his neck and his back every 30 minutes. The cough became less frequent. By the next day, I was applying the oils every couple of hours.

As of now, I am applying it once every 4 hours and the cough has improved significantly. He applies it himself once during the night.

I'm so grateful and thankful that God extended my life contract.

It is always best to be proactive rather than reactive. I now understand how valuable essential oils are to one's well being.

In addition to daily meditation and exercise, I've developed a daily routine of oils that I apply. If we start out healthy and live a healthy lifestyle, we have a better chance of remaining healthy.

Like me on my Facebook Page: https://www.facebook.com/doterrabykatharyn I'll be sharing more information on the benefits of essential oils.

This has been an amazing journey. I am so grateful and thankful that God decided to extend my life contract, enabling me to contribute in a very meaningful way.

Blessings to all of you.

I wish more people knew the importance of essential oils. I am currently studying for my designation in aromatherapy.
