Having yeast infections is an uncomfortable and often painful experience. The worst part is that it is very hard to find a treatment that will not only get rid of the nasty symptoms but of the infection itself.

Types Of Yeast Infection

There are different types of yeast infections. The infections that one woman catches could be very different from the one that the other catches. Common symptoms include vaginal itching and soreness. In some cases, you would find an odorless discharge. A woman suffering from yeast infections will also feel being more tired than usual and could have difficulty urinating. If the yeast infection is very mild, the person suffering from it may not even know that she has one.

What Causes Yeast Infection

Yeast infection is caused by an organism called Candida. This organism is present on all women. The Candida will cause an infection due to a number of reasons, the most common of which is a sudden change in the environment that makes them able to reproduce beyond control. When that happens, the body's natural defense system would be too taxed that it could no longer cope in battling the organisms . This is when the infection would set in.

Treatment For Yeast Infection

If you suspect that you have yeast infection, there are many over-the-counter pills and creams that you can buy to ease the pain and itching. But these treatments don't last long. Sooner or later after you have stopped applying the creams or taking the pills, you will once again feel the itchiness and pain. This is because the infection itself has not been treated and the growth of Candida has not been put under control.

In very severe cases of yeast infection, it is highly advisable that the inflicted individual must see a doctor immediately. The doctor then would be able to prescribe medications that would be able to control the infection. These medications are more lasting than over-the-counter treatments and are generally meant to destroy the cause of infection.

Sometimes though, the yeast infection can be very stubborn. After adhering to the prescribed treatment, some patients may find themselves being itchy or in pain again. This is because the Candida has once again grown out of control. In these cases it is advisable that the patient try some natural remedies for yeast infection while undergoing medication. Aside from treating the present infection, these natural remedies have the ability to prevent future infection.

Natural Cure For Yeast Infection

One natural cure for yeast infection is boric acid suppositories. This can readily be bought in natural health stores in the form of capsules. You must insert the capsule at night for 3 to 7 days. The itchiness and the pain should subside after this period. A word of caution though, boric acid must not be taken orally. You must also not over use boric acid or use them behind the prescribed time because this could lead to more irritation and discomfort.

Always remember though, if the symptoms become severe then immediately go to your doctor. Actually, you should not try out any medication without informing your doctor first. If you do you could run the risk of worsening the symptoms of yeast infection
