Ancient knowledge of Chinese medicines in the light of modern devices is opening new vistas in the health world. Chinese tonics have been very effective in rejuvenating people of any age. Here are some suggestions for their optimal use.

Traditional Chinese Medicines (TCM)

Traditional Chinese Medicines (TCM) are gaining popularity in the modern world. Ancient knowledge in the light of modern devices is opening new vistas in the health world. Chinese tonics have been very effective in rejuvenating people of any age. The TCM suggests many tips to make use of tonics.

The famous Chinese physician Sun Shu Mao, who lived in the seventh century for more than 100 years, says, “Anyone under forty should use herbs occasionally to regulate and strengthen the body naturally. Anyone over fifty should use tonics daily to nourish the blood strengthen the body and to prolong longevity.”

Tonics are essential substances for a long life. They are called elixir of life. They invigorate and rejuvenate body and mind. They prevent diseases and restore the health of a youth. They are very necessary for restoring energy after surgery, childbirth or any chronic illness.

Three important tips for taking tonics

1) Uninterrupted use of tonics is the most essential rule of using tonics. Irregular use of it can be of no use. Ancient medical systems suggest taking tonics for a certain period of time. For example, a period of 4 weeks or 6 weeks are normally fixed as regimen of a tonic. It does not mean that you should not take a tonic for 2 or 3 days. I will not do any harm. But you cannot get the expected result.

2) The second important suggestion is that a tonic should be taken only after meals.
3) The third important tip for using a tonic is that it should not be taken when you are in the early stage of cold infection. It may affect your infection and make it worse.

Although tonics can be used as a tea, tradition says that it is more effective when it is used as a syrup or medicinal wine. Tonics are said to be stimulated in power by the alcohol combination.
