Four Effective Ways to Overcome Bad Breath

Further to my last two articles about bad breath: Foods that Trigger Bad Breath and Two Ways to Detect Bad Breath, finally, it is important that we must know the effective ways to combat the brad breath.

Here are four effective ways to overcome bad breath:

1. Drink plenty of water.
To fight bacteria that cause bad breath is like preparing a war. Drink plenty of water. Dry mouth is a comfortable place for breeding bacteria that cause bad breath lodged in the tongue.

2. Chew sugar-free gum.

Chewing sugar-free gum can help to produce saliva, which is a natural weapon to eliminate bad breath

Saliva contains oxygen, which is a natural enemy of bacteria that cause the bad breath. Bacteria cannot live with the presence of oxygen, so that drinking water and chewing sugar-free gum, in related with saliva can eliminate bad breath.

Using a mouth freshener containing mint is not a bad idea to eliminate bad breath, but it is only for temporary.

3.Avoid foods that cause bad breath.

If you worry to have bad breath, limit consumption of foods such as garlic, onions, curry and fish. Acidic beverages such as beer, coffee, wine and soda can also trigger bad breath, because it can release a foul-smelling compounds, which can be absorbed into the bloodstream. Also limit the sweet chocolate and candy, because the content of sugar may help the bacteria to reproduce in the mouth.

4. Eat mouth odor remover.

Green tea has anti-bacterial properties that beat the bad smell. Cinnamon also contains essential oils that kill many types of oral bacteria.

Eat fresh fruits and vegetables, like celery or apples, it will give dual benefits of eliminating bad breath. Chewing celery or apples will produce more saliva in your mouth, beside the textures of apple and celery will also help to repel bacteria. Melon and fruit will also help.

The other foods that high in vitamin C will also work, because they help to kill bacteria naturally.

If you have changed your lifestyle and eating habits, but bad breath persists, contact your health consultant to make sure that it is not a sign of more serious medical condition.
