We all have stress but there are ways that we can learn to cope and manage stress. A little planning ahead can help in many situations.

Montrealers who experience a diet of constant stress may find themselves becoming depressed. Too much stress can lead to depression. Chronic stress can lead to major depressive disorder.

Just think about it, if your whole life is one worry after another the chances that you will end up in a full blown depression makes sense. Furthermore chronic stress will also create physical ailments such as obesity, high blood pressure, heart disease, and diabetes.

Chronic stress is a serious health and mental health issue. Fortunately, there are things that a Montrealer can do to ease some of the pressure. Montrealers can watch their diets, exercise, and look at their stress from a fresh perspective.

Montrealers you may need to lower their standards. Now Montreal McGill University or Montreal Concordia University undergrads might not think this is a good idea; especially if they are trying to get into grad schools.

However, for the students who are not going onto grad school, if you are stressing out over getting the perfect GPA; relax a bit. Montreal employers don’t normally ask to see your transcript in order to hire you; they are just concerned about whether you have a degree or not.

Another good strategy to follow is to realize that you just can’t do everything and you don’t have control over everything that happens. Do what you can do and leave the rest to God, other family members, co-workers, or whoever is available and capable of getting the job done.

Look at your problems as challenges

Another thing you can try is to prepare in advance for things that will cause you stress; pack your suitcases a week in advance so that you don’t have to worry about finding things at last minute to pack before your trip. You can also prepare your term papers, lectures, speeches, interviews, babysitting services, and any other situation that comes up in advance wherever possible.

Finally, instead of looking at issues as problems, try looking at them as challenges that you can overcome with a little preparation or help from family friends, government, and social resources.
