Increase your fiber intake by consuming more fruits, vegetables, legumes, nuts and natural grains. This will reduce your chance of developing diseases like heart disease, diabetes etc. and prevent constipation.

Try to substitute the dairy foods with meat and dairy alternatives. Substitute butter with margarine. Reduce the quantity of fat and sugar you consume. Sugar is just empty calories. Avoid it as much as possible.

Try vegetarian snack options such as vegetable chips, soy nuts, fruit chips and nutcrackers. Consume more vegetables, fruits and nuts. They have more vitamins and fewer calories.

Apart from sticking to your diet plans, try to work out for twenty minutes as a minimum four days a week. Remember, this exercise does not have to be rigorous. A brisk walk, yard work, housework, or even playing with your kids is good exercises. Taking up a new hobby such as crafts or knitting can also be considered as you are less likely to grab a snack or a treat when your hands are kept busy.

Another important tip is to detoxify or cleanse your body. This will remove chemicals and toxins from the body and facilitate the regular functioning of the body.

So start making healthier, smarter food replacements which will make you consume fewer calories and work out.
