A poem in two parts...
In this first part I write about how seeking happiness in the future we loose our happiness today...

Don't spoil your today for an imaginary happy future

Busy we are in the day throughout,
Here we run, there we shout;
Caught in the coils of hectic activity,
Head exploding with our actions' intensity.

Would anyone please explain me the use,
Of our body and mind's such cruel abuse;
Work we do for our happiness,
But thanks to it, we are forever restless.

Desires in thousands we entertain,
Fulfilment of which entail a lot of strain;
Seeking uncertain happiness in uncertain future,
Peace in the present we rupture.

Silly it is, isn't it?
To our sanity, it is unfit;
Why run after a possible joy tomorrow,
Bearing today unnecessary, untold sorrow?

Yes unnecessary sorrow it is,
As anyone on thinking for a moment sees;
If happiness is all you seek,
Have it right now, why next week!
