Breastfeeding is the most practical and easiest way of feeding a newly born child. Most of the advises from pediatricians is to breastfeed your child up to tow (2) years. Nowadays, we can see only few mothers in particular who are doing this and mostly, individuals from urban areas do follow this and some from rural areas. Let's find out more information about breastfeeding.

Practicality is the main reason for breastfeeding but let's go deeper. Let's find out more of the good things that both a mother and her child can benefit from doing it.

a.) The mother's milk is always fresh and ready for consumption by the baby.
b.) The mother's milk contains some antibodies essential in strengthening the baby's immune system.
c.) Saves time and effort. How? Well, in the middle of the night, when the baby is awake and become so hungry, the mother don't have to stand up so what will happen is that both of them can get good sleep and less stress morning when they wake up.
d.) Creates closer connection between the mother and the baby.
e.) Babies who were product of breastfeeding turned out to be a person with good personality and smart.

There are lots of benefits and only a mother can tell more if she breastfed her child.

Breastfeeding really fun and fulfilling but most of the time, a mother encounters different obstacles. Here are some of it.

a.) Sore Nipples. It occurs when the baby is sucking only the nipple part and if it happens more often.
2.) Low milk Supply. Sometimes, no matter how willing the mother is to do breastfeeding, she can't have any chance of getting enough milk supply for the baby. Some remedies works like massaging the breast, eating more nutritious, more liquids etc.
3.) Over supply of Milk. It may cause discomfort for both mother and baby.
4.) Engorgement or breast enlargement. It's normal since the breast is producing milk but sometimes it may cause fever.
5.) Inverted Nipples. The mother should consult a doctor or lactation specialist for additional help

How To Enjoy Breastfeeding

A mother should be doing this out of LOVE with patience and satisfaction. She should be able to enjoy what she's doing.

Let me tell you something. When I gave birth to my eldest son, I was already determined that I will do it! So I did everything to prepare myself. I started feeding my child 4 hrs after they handed me my baby. I look up for signs that the baby is hungry, I made an interaction between the two us and finally, when I was sent home, I got used to it.

Here are some tips for you:
- try to turn a sweet and mellow music on while feeding your baby
- call your baby's name more often and talk to him/her, say good things too
- touch your baby more often while breastfeeding, you're creating a stronger connection between each other
- let your baby hold your finger, it will make him/her feel secured all the time

CONGRATULATIONS! You're a certified Mother now!

Good share. I was so nervous when it came to breastfeeding my son, who is now 18, that I gave up breastfeeding.

Breast feeding seems to be still in, though the focus on exclusive breast feeding for up to 6 months for new born babies is not as intense as when I was having my children years ago.

Mother's milk is very useful as it gives the child vital ingredients necessary for fighting infections. Good article.

I was bottle-fed and so was my son. I don't object to the practice of breastfeeding, but think all mothers should do what they feel is best for their children, Having a child makes you a mother -- whether through birth or adoption or something similar -- and every mother who loves her children is a great mother!!

Of course. It still depends on how a mother raises her child. Thank you for reading and for you comment!

Have a nice day!
