Lesson to lessen me

The love we feel from tending to the best interests of a child is pure (when one acts with humility and compassion), and this love can in turn help us to get to a state of being in love, rather than transacting in love.

Lesson to lessen me

O life! In the midst of my darkest hours,
When I sought a candle to cast its light outside,
You granted me the most glorious smile from my child, that lit me up from inside.

O life! In the midst of the stormiest churning seas,
When I sought for a sturdy ship,
You brought to my ears a plaintive help call from my child,
I ran to her, and realized I had no sorrow to call my own.

O life! Many a sleepless night have I suffered,
Praying for resolution of conflict and predicament,
You placed my child's worry in front of my eyes,
Now my mind is clear and heart in peace,
When I am hollow inside,
And your voice comes from within,
To smoothen my child's ruffled brow.

O life! A friend bid me fall in love,
Another bid me to rise in love,
But in the guise of my child you came to me,
And now I am neither risen nor fallen, but am one with love.
