Here it is an example of what a detox diet should look like.

What to do?

If possible, food should be eaten in its natural state (fruits, vegetables), and those that need to be prepared, they are cooked at home, without chemicals.

• fried foods are prohibited and those that contain dangerous fats (margarine, pastries, sweets). Stewed or boiled meat is prepared without oil.

• sugar is forbidden and so are artificial sweeteners (saccharin, cyclamate, Acesulfame). When it is absolutely necessary, use brown sugar in small quantities.

• It is recommended to eat lean meat chicken and beef, but you should adopt a vegetarian diet at least one day per week. Meat can be replaced very well with beans, peas, mushrooms.

• Dairy products should be low fat and bread should be made of whole grain (white bread(wheat) is forbidden). Obviously, ordinary juices should be replaced by water, herbal tea and homemade fruit juice.

• It is forbidden to drink alcohol, and caffeine, whatever its source. Consumption of medicine should be restricted, unless it is absolutely necessary.

• Try to eat slowly, to relax and enjoy the taste of food, so that you can tell when you are full.By eating quickly, you eat more food than you need.

• Food should not be reheated more than once. Cook small portions and do it often.

Eating as much home made food is a great way of following this kind of diet, because away from home, we cannot always judge as to the quality of things being made.
