Meal Examples on How a Foodie Eats Healthy

For those of you who are not sure on how to base your meals around a healthy lifestyle, here are a few quick examples on how you can eat well and be happy!

How a Foodie Eats Healthy

Some people have asked me if I set up a weekly meal plan to go with my daily workouts, whether it is strength training or cardio.
Honestly, I prefer not to. Every day I have a different feel of what I want to enjoy, and I don’t want to feel as if I am punishing myself when I make pre-set meals to eat. It takes the fun out of finding recipes that are delicious AND good for you! With that being said, I will give you an example of what I typically eat on a normal day:

Breakfast:
Hot Oat Bran Cereal or Cream of wheat with chopped almonds, choice of fruit and sugar free maple syrup. You can switch it up using honey or agave. It’s your preference. I usually cook my hot cereal with water and then I add almond milk to thin it out.

Lunch:
A roasted turkey salad with turkey breast, spinach leaves, organic love beets, feta cheese, sunflower seeds, and choice of dressing (keep it light. Try not to drown the salad in dressing, so you don’t lose the natural flavors! Pomegranate viniagrette would be a fantastic option for this.)

Dinner:
Grilled chicken breast with steamed veggies. I try to keep it light by the end of the day so that way your body is able to digest the good more easily.

Snacks: I snack on an apple with some peanut butter, almonds, or even carrots with hummus. Those are my go to’s for when I like a snack!

Sweets: personally, I do not like to buy store bought goodies or box mixes of cakes and brownies. I would rather make them on my own, that way I know what is going in my food that is healthy for my body!

Remember to not beat yourself up if you fall off of your journey towards fitness and health. Life should be enjoyed, and good things come to those who are patient!
