Well, it's again Thursday, it's again 11-o'clock in the morning, and I once again am struck with blindness and a splitting headache.

Migraine blindness

Mother thinks it's what the old people used to call a "gall attack", but she thinks it's more likely something to do with blood sugar.

What are these things? Haven't I experienced it not too long ago?

The first time was in 1993, and then in 1999, and then in 2012, but now again in 2013??? Why so soon again?

It starts with a small area in my sight, where the image just disappears and there's also a lot of flickering. Just thinking about it makes me feel sick.

Soon it gets worse and bigger areas of my field of view is affected.

It looks like the image I'm seeing is partly scrambled and flickering. Looks like the image in both eyes is more or less affected the same way.

Later the flickering part moves to the right hand side, and then up into the blackness of my forehead. When I look down I can still see it, but later my vision looks basically normal again. The whole thing plays off in about 40 minutes to an hour.

When it started, out of desperation I thougth I would try taking a walk and seeing if exercise makes it pass faster. I don't know if exercise is good in such a condition, especially since I can't see well while it's going on. However, I do believe because I went for a brisk walk, the condition passed in 40 minutes rather than an hour.

But, although the vision may look restored, a feeling of sickness that is a mixture of nausea and an insane headache, follows and keeps me feeling poorly for the rest of the day.

I then also show symptoms of something between hay fever and a cold.

Mother calls the doctor after I tell her about it, and he says it's migraines.
