Every person with diabetes needs a simple efficient blood sugar meter now the possibility to have a cellphone app that will do the job for you.

New iPHONE app

It is just amazing n how technology has come so far. Diabetes home testing has entered the 21st century. In March of this 2012, a company by the name of Sanofi has brought out a new IPod and IPhone application which they have named iBGStar. This little big star will be stellar in the Montreal community. This Canadian invention will allow diabetics to check their blood sugar with these Apple mobile phones. They will get a reading within five seconds. It is the first of its kind in Canada.

No need to take your glucose meter to a restaurant

Imagine the simplicity of this device. Montreal diabetics can go anywhere and do anything without having to worry about taking their blood sugar with the regular device that they normally use.

Now they can go to dinner in a fine restaurant or a greasy spoon and use their cellphone to take the reading. No more crowding purses with an extra thing that may only be used once while the person is out. More importantly no more rushing out of the house forgetting to take the device with them, or having to decide if they really want to take it at all.

Montrealers with cellphones will have their blood sugar monitor wherever they go and whenever they want it. This device will also be beneficial for men who don’t carry large purses and need something to put the device in.

Controling blood sugar

The device will attach to Apple IPhone and IPod. All Montrealers will have to do is to download the attachment at iBGStar Diabetes Manager App. The application will store blood sugar levels, carbs, and insulin levels. It also has the ability to track and record numbers to compare. For example, a diabetic needs to know if his or her blood sugar is higher in the morning, the evening, what foods trigger high blood sugar levels, and so on.

The database stores 300 entries and will delete the info once over the limit. It then begins from scratch. Montrealers can still use the device even without an Apple IPod or IPhone. Sanofi has created an online research website filled with articles about diabetes and more.
