Of all things, I am going to talk about self-esteem and how to increase it in yourself

We all need to love ourselves. Without that decision to love ourselves, we plain make an unconscious decision to fear ourselves. Recently, I was thinking about this fact with full cognizance, and here is what I came up with:

We all have a choice

We can love ourselves enough to take beneficial actions or we can hate ourselves enough to take destructive actions. For starters, I do not smoke, I do not drink, and I eat the best I can. That is for starters. But, when I write about self-love or self-esteem, I do not mean maudlin foolishness about being extreme about self-worship or anything like that, though or even any sort of narcissism, that is unhealthy.

I write about a healthy self-esteem and self-understanding that makes life genuinely work. After all, real honor is being honest with yourself, starting with yourself and making the choice to be honest with yourself then all others.

The best lives are the most honest and realistically logical, not the most sickeningly cult-leader narcissistic. What I mean by realistically logical is a sort of accounting combined with understanding that takes into account all realistic thinking and action. In short, I am not saying, "be perfect". But, I am saying these words: "Be equitable".

What I mean by "Be Equitable" is this: Do things that benefit yourself and all others within reason. Do not go to extremes of foolish courage or overt fear. But think in all of your actions. Remember, we all have a conscious and real choice to think, act, and then generate results. That reality belongs to everybody and everyone.

When I think of Baruch Spinoza, James Allen and Saint Thomas Aquinas

The three men I mentioned in the title basically said that variance with honesty and reason are evil, I agree. Some of the worst decisions ever made were purely emotional and arbitrary. Great decisions, okay, most of them are made quickly, but they are made with cold, logical deliberation and heavy, but efficient thought. Some of the worst decisions in history were made with fear and inefficient thought. For example, the United States dropping the atomic bomb on Japan in Hiroshima and Nagasaki, and then interning Japanese-American citizens in concentration camps. I understand that the decisions on those realities were made "heavily", but there were better solutions that they could have considered rather than wanton destruction. I am not trying to be shocking, I am making a point of what fear and inefficient thought can do at its worst.

Back to the reality of self-esteem though. Some of the most justified low self-esteem actions are the most powerfully destructive. The best survival actions are the ultimate high self-esteem actions that do not need to be justified, because the good or great results are the key to their justification.

In reality, then, the only way to increase self-esteem are taking good and beneficial actions consistently. That is an "overly" coldly logical way to look at it, I know, but that is what it comes down to. After all, fantasy trips are selfish and mostly fearful of reality anyway. A fantasy trip differs from productive imagination in this way: Productive, creative imagination finds ways to make life better productively in a creative way. A genuine fantasy trip genuinely seeks to escape reality. That is the difference between a fantasy trip and productive, creative imagination. Know this difference. It will help your self-esteem.

Here is where we genuinely create and produce ourselves

It is an old saying that "actions are louder than words". Well, actions are always louder than words. Some of the greatest promises became the greatest disappointments because they did not pass the phase of unrealistic words.

Reality is nothing more than a promissory note unless it is backed up by rational and efficient action. Nothing else matters. After all, we must lift our thoughts above slavish, and animal indulgence that boasts fearfully. We must take rational action that works to make existence better for ourselves and all around us.
