Irritating skin of summer

Summer months are horrible. They bring many changes in nature. They make the atmosphere hotter and more humid. The heat of the sun affects the skin of the body. Many people will find their skin turn more oily. It makes them look uneasy. How to avoid oily skin in summer?

As the summer months move on, the atmosphere becomes hotter. Humidity in the air is also increasing. The warm weather brings plenty of activities. Sundresses, ice cream parties, outdoor enjoyments, etc., make the season more delightful. But the hot and humid weather has great impact on the skin. It becomes oily, melting the makeup.

Winter months make the skin dry. But summer months make it oily and irritating. The shining of hair may be liked but not the skin. It looks awful. Walking in the hot sun makes the whole body wet and oily. It spoils the complexion of the face.

Why does the skin become oily in summer?

The hot and humid weather of summer leads to an increase in oil production from sebaceous glands of the body. The production of sebum in the body is a complex mix of dead skin cells and lipids (fats) which lubricate the skin and protect it from dehydration and the environment. When they are in excess it may be useful to the body. Rather it makes the surface of the face look oily. This excess oil also clogs the pores on the skin. Even if the skin does not produce much oil, the humidity in the summer air causes the oily substance on the face remain for a longer time. It mixes with sweat and makes the face look greasier.

Oily skin can be managed with proper care. Application of sunscreen, reducing spicy foods, wearing a light dress, etc., can reduce the adversities of oily skin.
