I am reviewing my absolutely cherished shower gel, the Oriflame Discover Borneo Tropical Rainforest Shower Gel.

My take on Oriflame

I have been using the product since the last two months, alternating it with Oriflame Milk and Honey Soap which my family uses throughout the year. Now that it is summer, I am indulging in my shower gel bath everyday! I usually felt lazy using it in winter but even when I used it,the experience has always been a wonderful one. In any case I am a lover of Oriflame products! So far I have not been disappointed with any of their products that I have purchased.

Oriflame’s take on the DISCOVER BORNEO shower gel

“Savour every moment of your tropical rainforest experience with the refreshing, sporty scent of Discover Borneo – slowly make your way through the dense jungle, enjoying the lush green surroundings and wild nature all around you.”

Price: Rs.269 (INR)

I bought it at Rs.198 when it was on offer.

Quantity: 250 ml

Product Code: 13402

Ingredient List:

AQUA, SODIUM LAURETH SULFATE, COCAMIDOPROPYL BETAINE, SODIUM CHLORIDE, LAURETH-3, PARFUM, SODIUM CITRATE, BENZOPHENONE-4, 2-BROMO-2-NITROPROPANE-1,3-DIOL, CITRIC ACID, CI 42090, CI 19140

My experience with the product:

The color and the smell are enough to tempt me to bathe with it daily. The gel is of a beautiful sheer dark green color which I absolutely love! The smell is refreshing enough to uplift my mood!

I sometimes use a loofah to scrub my body with the gel. But sometimes I use it without the loofah too. I just have to wet my body and lather with a small quantity of the gel. The lather is quite nice and then it comes off easily when you stand under the shower or even with a hand-shower which I sometimes use when I do not feel like wetting my hair.

The appearance of the product

It's of a beautiful color. That is how the gel actually looks when I put some on my hand. The consistency is a bit runny though.

Pros of Oriflame Discover Borneo Tropical Rainforest Shower Gel

Beautiful exotic fragrance. It reminds you of the lush tropical forests true to its claim!

The fragrance is soothing too and calms my senses.

Quantity is enough to last for a full two months if you use it at a stretch.

Decent price considering the quantity(250 ml) they are offering.

Solid packaging and convenient flip-cap.

You need just a little quantity of the shower gel.Just rinse your body and lather all over.

Gives you a squeaky clean feel after the bath.

Gives you a very refreshing bathing experience. Even my mind soars with the freshness after the bath. (Hope I am not exaggerating!)

Made in Poland! I love imported products!

Cons of Oriflame Discover Borneo Tropical Rainforest Shower Gel

The bottle is a little big in size so it does not exactly fit into my shelf. So I have placed it on top of the shelf in my bathroom!

The gel is of a runny consistency so have to be careful when taking the product out of the bottle so that we take only as much as needed.

Normal price is Rs.269 (INR) so we have to wait for the product to be on offer if we want to purchase it. This actually might not be a con in your opinion if you like buying products at discounted rates.

Verdict

Verdict:

I am extremely pleased with my purchase and hope to try other shower gels from Oriflame too. They have such a huge collection of shower gels that it is difficult to settle down to one after flipping through the entire catalogue!

Will I buy again? Yes of course! But this will last me another twenty more days I guess.

My rating: 4.5/5

I used to use this in the early 90's. Nice to know they still exist. Good one...
