Most people view stress as a negative emotion but stress can be good for us as well. Furthermore, different people will experience stress in different life situations.

Stress can be good or bad

Stress can be positive or it can be negative, but what is negative stress for one Montrealer may be positive for others. For example, working under the gun is stressful for a lot of people. I did my university assignments the minute they were issued because I could not take the stress of being up all night working on the project the night before the project was due.

Stress related disorders

On the other hand, several of her Montreal Concordia University peers loved to wait to for the last minute and loved the challenge.

We know that the body releases stress hormones. They are cortisol and adrenaline. Too much bad stress over time will harm the body. It can cause both physical differences such as weaken the immune system and it can cause emotional/psychological disorders such as depression and anxiety.

Some people love stressful jobs

People who love the challenge of meeting deadlines are often said to be having an adrenaline rush which acts on the body like a drug. It can be a healthy thing and many successful Montreal business people, fundraisers, firefighters, and so on love their jobs, the good that they do, and are confident in their ability to get the job done.

As you can see not everyone reacts to the same stress in the same way.

If you are one of the Montrealers who cannot handle stress and anxiety that well, you can find many resources in Montreal to treat stress and anxiety. You can visit your local CLSC, hospital, or get private therapy.

Excellent article that really addresses the real thing. It reminds me one of the books by Dale Carnegie "How to stop worrying and start living"
